Supreme People's Court seeks opinions on 20 draft precedents

On October 17, in Xuan Huong ward - Da Lat, Lam Dong province, the Supreme People's Court held a Workshop to collect opinions on draft precedents.

Attending the workshop were Mr. Nguyen Van Tien, Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and scientists , judges and lawyers.

At the workshop, delegates discussed and contributed opinions on 20 draft precedents, including: 6 criminal precedents, 2 administrative precedents and 12 precedents on civil, marriage & family, commercial business, and civil proceedings.

At the workshop, representatives of Departments and People's Courts of the provinces participated in 7 discussions contributing opinions to 20 draft case laws for 2025.

The delegates focused on discussions in a responsible and frank spirit, giving many important suggestions as reference materials for the Supreme People's Court's Council of Judges in the process of selecting and adopting precedents.

Mr. Nguyen Van Quan, Deputy Chief Justice of Lam Dong Provincial People's Court, presented a report contributing opinions to the draft precedent.

The opinions raised in the workshop will be studied, absorbed and revised by the Department of Legislation and Science Management, Supreme People's Court, based on the comments of experts and scientists. The opinions of the Precedent Advisory Council will then be sought before being submitted to the Supreme People's Court's Judicial Council for consideration and approval.
