All public holidays in a year

According to Article 112 of the 2019 Labor Code, employees are entitled to paid leave during the following holidays and festivals each year:

- New Year's Day: 1 day (January 1st);

- Lunar New Year: 5 days (annually, based on actual conditions, the Prime Minister decides on the specific number of holidays);

- Victory Day: 1 day (April 30th);

- International Labor Day: 1 day (May 1st);

- National Day: 2 days (September 2nd and one day immediately before or after; annually, based on actual conditions, the Prime Minister decides on the specific holiday dates);

- Hung King's Commemoration Day: 01 day (10th day of the 3rd lunar month).

For foreign workers in Vietnam, in addition to the holidays stipulated above, they are also entitled to one extra day off for their national New Year and one extra day off for their country's National Day.

Based on the regulations mentioned above, from now until the end of 2023, employees will still be entitled to a holiday on National Day, September 2nd.

The National Day holiday schedule for September 2nd, 2023, for officials, civil servants, and employees is as follows:

(1) National Day holiday schedule on September 2nd, 2023 for officials, civil servants and public employees

Public officials and employees will have a holiday for National Day on September 2nd, 2023, from Friday, September 1st, 2023, to Monday, September 4th, 2023. This holiday period includes two days of National Day, one weekly day off, and one compensatory day off for the weekly day off.

(2) National Day holiday schedule for September 2nd, 2023 for workers

- For employees who have one day off per week (Sunday)

+ If the employer chooses to take Friday, September 1st, 2023 off, then employees will have 3 consecutive days off for the National Day on September 2nd, 2023 (from Friday, September 1st, 2023 to Sunday, September 3rd, 2023); including 2 public holidays and 1 weekly day off.

+ If the employer chooses to take Sunday, September 3rd, 2023 off, then employees will have 3 consecutive days off for National Day 2023 (from Saturday, September 2nd, 2023 to Monday, September 4th, 2023); including 2 public holidays and 1 compensatory day off.

- For employees who have a two-day weekly rest schedule (Saturday and Sunday)

+ If the employer chooses to take Friday, September 1st, 2023 off, then employees will have 4 consecutive days off for the National Day on September 2nd, 2023 (from Friday, September 1st, 2023 to Monday, September 4th, 2023); including 2 public holidays, 1 weekly day off, and 1 compensatory day off.

+ If the employer chooses to take Sunday, September 3rd, 2023 off, then employees will have 4 consecutive days off for the National Day holiday on September 2nd, 2023 (from Saturday, September 2nd, 2023 to Tuesday, September 5th, 2023); including 2 public holidays and 2 compensatory days off.
