On the evening of May 27, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City sent a document to the American International Primary - Secondary - High School (Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City) informing that this school is not allowed to enroll students in the first grade classes (grades 1, 6 and 10) for the 2024-2025 school year.
Accordingly, considering the admission conditions of the American International Primary - Secondary - High School, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City found that at present, the school does not have a feasible plan to improve the operating situation of the 2023-2024 school year and ensure the conditions for organizing educational activities in the 2024-2025 school year.
Therefore, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City announced that the American International Primary - Secondary - High School does not meet the conditions for consideration of enrollment quotas for the 2024-2025 school year.
On this basis, American International Primary - Secondary - High School is not allowed to enroll in the first grades (grades 1, 6, 10) and accept transfer students until the 2024-2025 school year.
The Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City requests that the American International Primary - Secondary - High School seriously implement the above request.
Previously, in mid-April 2024, the Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee conveyed the direction of former Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Anh Duc on requesting the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training and the interdisciplinary working group to strengthen monitoring and closely supervise the activities of the American International Primary - Secondary - High School, ensuring learning organization conditions and teaching quality for students until the end of the 2023-2024 school year.
Due to a series of financial difficulties, all grades of this school ended the school year on April 26, except for grade 12 students who ended the school year on May 17 to complete the International Baccalaureate (IB) exam.
