Youth with July of love

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - "Gratitude Meal", "Meal with Mother", "Meal of Love"... have become meaningful activities deployed by the Provincial Youth Union to all levels of the Youth Union in the month of gratitude in July. In Luong Son commune, according to the plan on July 24, along with activities of visiting and giving gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers and families with meritorious services, the Provincial Youth Union will organize a "Gratitude Meal - Warmth of Love" at the home of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Lang Thi Phong, born in 1922.

It is known that Lang Thi Phong's mother was awarded the title of Vietnamese Heroic Mother in 1994. She is the mother of martyr Lang Thanh Quynh, who enlisted in June 1977, belonged to the combat unit of the 4th Army Corps, and died on July 9, 1981 in Cambodia.

Secretary of the Luong Son Commune Youth Union Hoang Thi Kim said: “To prepare well for the activity “Gratitude Meal - Warmth of Love” at the mother’s house, these days, the union members and young people in the commune have come to clean the house and yard for the mother’s family; at the same time, the commune’s youth union has assigned tasks to go to the market to buy necessities and necessary tools to prepare the dishes. Through the activity, we aim to contribute to educating the younger generation about gratitude and national pride, and at the same time join hands to do a good job of repaying gratitude and ensuring social security in the locality.”

In the last days of July, under the hot sun, Ham Rong Martyrs' Cemetery is always bustling with people coming to offer incense and commemorate. This is the resting place of more than 2,000 martyrs from Thanh Hoa who sacrificed their lives in the resistance war against France and the US and Vietnamese volunteer soldiers who sacrificed their lives while performing international duties in Laos. Before the souls of the heroic martyrs, Thanh Hoa's youth offered flowers, incense, and lit candles to express their respect and infinite gratitude for the great contributions and sacrifices of the heroic martyrs for the cause of national liberation and unification, for the happiness of the people. At the same time, they vowed to promote their intelligence, be proactive, volunteer, and be ready to face difficulties and challenges, go anywhere, do anything when the Fatherland and the people need them; always believe in and vow to forever follow the path chosen by the Party, Uncle Ho and the people; raise awareness of vigilance against hostile forces; continue to preserve and inherit the revolutionary achievements of our Party, worthy of the heroic sacrifices of the heroic martyrs.

Along with the candle lighting activities in gratitude, in localities in the province, in July, the Youth Union at all levels also mobilized many youth union members and volunteers to participate in beautifying the landscape around the martyrs' cemetery, whitewashing thousands of martyrs' graves; organized extensive propaganda and education activities for union members, youth and children about the tradition of "Repaying gratitude", "Drinking water, remembering its source" associated with the history of the nation's struggle to build and defend the country; 100% of grassroots youth organizations in the province organized activities to pay tribute to the families of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of war invalids and martyrs.

Notably, in Tho Xuan commune, the commune Youth Union mobilized more than 500 union members and young people to clean up the environment in the martyrs' cemetery of the commune. In Nghi Son ward, the atmosphere at the small house of Mrs. Tran Thi Hua, born in 1944 (wife of martyr Nguyen Van Rau) became warmer and more bustling when union members and young people in the commune came to visit and encourage her. Although she is very old, she is still healthy and full of enthusiasm to "pass on the fire" to the young people today to follow. Secretary of the ward Youth Union Tran Van Duc said: "This is an annual activity of the Youth Union to express gratitude and responsibility to the relatives of heroic martyrs, those who have contributed to the country. At the same time, it propagates and educates the tradition of patriotism, national pride, and responsibility of the youth".

Through the resistance wars for national independence and protection of the Fatherland, Thanh Hoa has 329,824 people with meritorious services, including 4,424 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, more than 56,000 martyrs, nearly 46,000 wounded soldiers, more than 16,000 sick soldiers, 16,625 people participating in the resistance war infected with toxic chemicals, 2,000 veteran revolutionary cadres, nearly 600 pre-uprising cadres, nearly 300 revolutionary benefactors, nearly 1,500 people who participated in the revolution and resistance war and were imprisoned by the enemy, nearly 200 people are heroes of the armed forces, heroes of labor, there are over 203,000 people participating in the resistance war for national liberation and performing international duties... Along with the policies of the Party and State, the youth of Lam Son land have been joining hands to take care of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of people with meritorious services, showing their gratitude. Infinite gratitude to those who have devoted and sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation. This is a vivid expression, an action that clearly demonstrates the morality and affection of the youth towards those who have contributed.
