People's Committee holds online meeting to deploy socio-economic development tasks in May

On May 6, Comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired an online meeting to review the direction and management of socio -economic development in April 2024 and deploy key tasks in May 2024. Attending were Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee: Nguyen Long Bien and Le Huyen.

In April, the province's socio-economic situation was stable and showed positive signs of development. Agricultural, industrial and service production sectors all had good growth compared to the same period. In agricultural production, the planting area for the Winter-Spring crop increased by 1.4% over the same period, exceeding the plan by 1.9%; the conversion of crop structure continued to be effective to effectively adapt to the hot and dry weather and lack of irrigation water; the exploitation output increased by 3% over the same period, shrimp seed production increased by 2.3%. The industrial production index in April increased by 6.96% over the same period; the cumulative increase in the first 4 months of the year was 11.6%; most of the main industrial products grew quite well. Tourism activities continued to grow, attracting 320,000 visitors in the month, an increase of 10.3% over the same period. By April 30, more than 584 billion VND had been disbursed, reaching 19% of the plan, higher than the national average disbursement rate (17.46%) and higher than the same period last year. During the month, 23 new enterprises were established and 46 enterprises returned to operation. Total budget revenue in the province reached 300 billion VND; accumulated revenue in 4 months was 1,613 billion VND, reaching 44% of the plan. Vocational training and job creation were promoted, creating new jobs for 1,793 workers. Social security policies continued to receive attention and were fully implemented; disease prevention and control work was strengthened; food hygiene and safety were ensured. Security, politics , and social order and safety were maintained; the province successfully organized the Conference to announce the Ninh Thuan Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030 and promote investment in Ninh Thuan province. At the meeting, departments, branches and local units reported, recommended and proposed a number of solutions to remove difficulties and promote socio-economic development in the coming time.

Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, comrade Tran Quoc Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the sectors and localities to continue to thoroughly grasp the motto of action, with high determination, taking advantage of opportunities to accelerate socio-economic development. Further promote 3 breakthroughs in accelerating the progress of key and inter-regional projects, especially infrastructure projects; perfecting mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties for key development areas; and unlocking land resources. Timely and effectively deploy solutions to prevent and combat drought and local water shortages in the area; effectively operate irrigation systems and works, proactively store water to ensure agricultural production, provide water for people's daily life, and prevent people from lacking water for daily life.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that in the event of local drought, there is a risk of affecting agricultural production growth. Therefore, the industrial-construction, trade-service production sectors need to strive for higher growth, compensating for growth to achieve the growth target of 10-11% by the end of the year. Sectors and localities continue to inspect and urge the implementation progress and disbursement of investment capital of each project; strive to disburse 100% of the public investment capital plan in 2024, especially promoting disbursement of capital for 3 National Target Programs, key projects, and accelerating the implementation of Project 06/CP.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested relevant departments and branches to focus on directing the promotion of Summer-Autumn crop production associated with effective implementation of crop restructuring; effectively implementing the National Target Program on new rural construction, implementing the One Commune One Product - OCOP Program in 2024. Focus on removing difficulties, speeding up the progress of energy projects; key projects and key economic zones in the South, approving the selection of investors for the Ca Na LNG project; developing a plan to implement the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, to submit to the Prime Minister for approval according to regulations. Continue to advise on synchronous implementation of solutions to improve provincial indicators PCI, DDCI, budget collection solutions; effectively exploiting revenue from land, auctioning real estate facilities to generate budget revenue; removing difficulties, helping businesses recover production and business. Implement programs to stimulate demand and increase tourism; prepare well for the organization of the high school graduation exam and the 10th grade entrance exam for the 2024-2025 school year. Prepare well for the organization of the thematic conference "Promoting vocational training and creating jobs for workers in the coming time". Complete and implement the project to rearrange administrative units at district and commune levels for the period 2023-2025.
