First mother to give birth at FV: "A completely different experience!"
In 2003, when FV Hospital had just started operating, Ms. Dao Thi Ngoc Bich, one of the first employees, discovered that she was pregnant right when she was about to start work. Worried that her pregnancy would affect her work, she informed the human resources department. However, the response from the manager surprised her: "Congratulations, you will be the first Vietnamese employee to give birth at FV."
Her pregnancy went smoothly and easily: prenatal check-ups were scheduled during the working day, and all questions were answered by the doctors. On the day of labor, a healthy baby boy cried out, opening the journey of motherhood full of happiness. Immediately after birth, the baby was examined by a pediatrician. Bich was cared for by the midwives, who gently changed her bandages. At night, the midwives took the baby to a private room to take care of her so that she could rest, which was very rare more than 20 years ago.

"I still remember the feeling of comfort and happiness when I received attentive care when giving birth at FV. I am proud to be the first Vietnamese female employee to give birth at FV, and my son is also one of the first FV babies," Ms. Bich shared.
Ms. Bich then went on to give birth to two more babies at FV in 2007 and 2012, all three journeys were filled with peace and trust.
Three challenging births and a complete trust in FV
For Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Cuong (39 years old, Ho Chi Minh City), all three pregnancies were high-risk, but she chose FV because she trusted the doctor's expertise and close monitoring at each stage. Her companion was Dr. Ngo Trung Nam, who has a lot of experience in handling complicated pregnancies.

During her first pregnancy in 2014, she gained 30kg, but the ultrasound showed that the fetus was small for its gestational age. Dr. Nam found out that the cause was due to increased uterine artery resistance. This is a condition in which the blood flow from the mother to the placenta is obstructed, reducing the amount of oxygen and nutrients delivered to the fetus, which can cause slow fetal development, pre-eclampsia, chronic fetal distress, premature birth, and even stillbirth...
Her family took her to an outside medical facility for further medical advice; the outside doctor suggested giving birth prematurely so the baby could be kept in an incubator, which left her confused.
Having done in-depth research in this field, Dr. Nam advised: "Based on the growth chart, the fetal growth rate is stable, so the baby will be born normal even though underweight." The doctor developed an optimal treatment regimen to increase blood flow to the fetus, thanks to which she gave birth to a full-term, healthy baby boy weighing more than 2kg.
Her second pregnancy in 2016 brought another challenge for her: the baby was constantly "threatening" to give birth prematurely. Dr. Nam gave her medication to control the risk and allowed her to go about her normal activities. Contrary to the idea of lying still, Dr. Nam explained that new studies showed that lying still does not help the fetus "keep" longer, and can even cause embolism in overweight people. "I am very grateful to Dr. Nam, thanks to him I welcomed a full-term baby, weighing 3kg," Ms. Kim Cuong emotionally recounted.
In her third pregnancy, she suddenly had bleeding at week 30, with a very high risk of premature birth. After an ultrasound and an accurate diagnosis, Dr. Nam placed a cervical pessary for her. This device helps support and secure the uterus in a safe position, preventing premature labor, the fetus develops stably, and the baby is born full term.

"Talking about giving birth at FV, I can sum it up in 5 words: trust and care. I recommend FV Obstetrics to many relatives and friends. Here, pregnant women feel secure throughout their pregnancy and the care service is like a vacation," she shared.
It can be said that each baby born at FV is a memorable story, a meaningful experience; FV has been the choice of more than 10,000 families over the past 22 years.
