Every year after the Lunar New Year, the young people of An My village go from house to house collecting empty cans and bottles to sell and raise funds for scholarships for students in the village.

On the morning of February 8th, Mr. Ho Quang Phuoc, secretary of the Youth Union branch in An My village, Cam Tuyen commune (Cam Lo district, Quang Tri province ), said that the village's Youth Union had just finished collecting empty cans and scrap materials after the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake.
This practice has been going on for the past 10 years, taking place right after the Lunar New Year.
Before Tet (Lunar New Year), the youth union informed households about fundraising activities. Having become accustomed to this meaningful work, the residents saved empty cans, bottles, waste paper, and other scrap materials instead of selling them.
"This year, the fundraising efforts have been more active and effective than in previous years. The amount collected, over 5.5 million VND, will be used to provide scholarships for students in the village during the Mid-Autumn Festival, gifts for Children's Day, and summer activities," said Mr. Ho Quang Phuoc.
In 2024, using funds from this source, the youth union, in coordination with the village, awarded scholarships to 30 students of all levels in the village.
