The Sun newspaper wrote: "Paollo Madeira Oliveira and two members of the HAGL club, assistant coach Duong Minh Ninh and the team doctor, Dao Trong Tri, were killed in the tragic accident. The car they were traveling in was crushed by two trucks."

"Paollo Madeira Oliveira started playing football in Portugal in 2011 for the youth teams of Imortal, Quarteirense, Farense 1910, Estrela da Amadora and Farense. Last season, he played for Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club on loan from Farense Club, before joining HAGL Club in the 2023 season and leaving permanently at the end of the season," wrote Ojogo (Brazil).
On the Farense club website, the club expressed its condolences after the sudden death of former player Paollo Madeira Oliveira. "It is with great shock and regret that Sporting Clube Farense announces the death of former player Paollo Madeira Oliveira. We send our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Paollo Madeira Oliveira," the Farense club said in a statement.
Portuguese newspapers also expressed their grief. "Paollo Madeira Oliveira is Brazilian, but he never played here. He became a Portuguese citizen and developed his football career at clubs before coming to Vietnam."

Estrela da Amadora Club, where Paollo Madeira Oliveira used to play before coming to Vietnam to play for Hong Linh Ha Tinh Club and HAGL Club, also sent condolences: "Estrela da Amadora Club is deeply saddened to announce the passing of our former player Paollo Madeira Oliveira. To all the family members and friends who are mourning Paollo Madeira Oliveira, we would like to send our deepest condolences. The Estrelista family is always with all of you.
