Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper trains in using AI in creating journalistic works

This is the first step in realizing the cooperation program between Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper and the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology, signed by the leaders of the two units on January 19, 2024.

The course is organized by Lao Dong Newspaper in collaboration with Post and Telecommunications Training Center 2 - Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology ( Ministry of Information and Communications ) and experts from ALM and Keystone.

The course's students are all staff members of the content, business, and administrative departments of the Lao Dong Newspaper, such as editorial secretaries, department heads/deputy heads, editors, reporters, artists, etc.

Course content includes: overview of AI and automatic data update tools; AI in news production, text articles; podcasts, photo talking; news synthesis, analysis and infographic creation; quick production of short video clips; reportage creation techniques using multi-interactive Livestream.

Speaking at the opening of the training course, Mr. Le Cuong, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, General Secretary of the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, emphasized that this is the first time the newspaper has organized a training course on applying AI to journalism with a large number of participants and a long duration (21 days). The purpose of the course is to help students form habits and use AI proficiently in their professional work. After the training course, students can understand the operating principles of generative artificial intelligence and prompt engineering techniques to effectively exploit AI tools to enhance image and video effects.

“Be able to use AI to quickly create written news and podcasts. Be able to use AI and supporting tools to create short videos/clips from the scene. Be able to use AI to synthesize and analyze data to create a series of events to create infographic news and charts…”, Mr. Le Cuong shared.
