Animated films gross hundreds of billions in Vietnamese theaters

Summer 2024 witnessed the arrival of a series of blockbuster animated films with impressive revenue.

The new Conan movie is successful in both quality and revenue.

Conan Cartoon: The Million Dollar Star reached 100 billion VND in revenue after 10 days of release , becoming the 4th animated film to surpass 100 billion VND in revenue in Vietnam, according to statistics from Box Office Vietnam. Released at the same time as many films such as Deadpool & Wolverine , documentary BLACKPINK World Tour Pink Origin, Handsome Sees Wrong, Tree Ma ... but the new part of the Conan movie still has significant appeal and continuously ranks at the top of the revenue chart.

The movie "Doraemon and the Symphony of the Earth" is the highest-grossing animated film of 2024 in Vietnam.

From March until now, in just a few months, there have been animated films that have reached the 100 billion mark: Kung fu Panda 4, Doraemon and Symphony of the Earth, Despicable Me 4 (Despicable me 4). In which the highest grossing film is 147 billion VND belongs to Doraemon and Symphony of the Earth.

Many other animated films were also quite successful. Emotional Pieces 2 (Inside Out 2) also reached about 87 billion VND. The common point of the hundred-billion-VND animated films in Vietnam is the available audience, because the films are sequels to comic books and animated films that are loved by the audience. Secondly, the film parts are carefully crafted in terms of images, effects, and stories, creating many interesting surprises for viewers when experiencing them in theaters. In addition, the appearance of many new characters and situations while still maintaining the typical spirit of the series is also a point of attraction for the audience.
