The minimum admission scores for health-related fields requiring professional certification are announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, and the admission method uses the results of the high school graduation exam.
Nguyen Tat Thanh University has announced a slight reduction in the minimum admission scores for health-related majors. For admission based on high school graduation exam scores, the expected minimum score for medicine and dentistry is around 22 points, and 23 points for admission based on academic transcripts. For admission based on the National University of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi's aptitude test scores, the university sets the minimum score at 600-650 points for the National University of Ho Chi Minh City exam and 75-85 points for the National University of Hanoi exam.
Other fields such as preventive medicine, nursing, medical laboratory technology, and rehabilitation technology are expected to have minimum admission scores of 19 points for the method of admission based on high school graduation exam scores and academic transcripts; 550 points for the method of admission based on the National University of Ho Chi Minh City's competency assessment exam; and 70 points for the National University of Hanoi's exam.

At Hong Bang International University, the official minimum admission score for the method of considering high school graduation exam results and the combined method of considering high school graduation exam scores and 12th-grade academic transcripts (1 subject from the transcript + 2 subjects from the high school graduation exam) is 15 points. This applies to admission to all undergraduate programs in all fields, including two health-related majors: public health and nutrition.
Specifically for health-related fields requiring professional certification/licenses such as: Medicine, Traditional Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, Midwifery, Medical Laboratory Technology, Rehabilitation Technology, and Medical Imaging Technology, the minimum admission score will be based on the quality assurance threshold set by the Ministry of Education and Training.

The health sciences group at Van Lang University includes medicine, pharmacy, nursing, dentistry, and medical laboratory technology. Admission requirements apply to all methods except the high school graduation exam score method: Candidates must have a good academic record if applying to medicine, dentistry, or pharmacy; and a fair academic record if applying to nursing or medical laboratory technology. In addition, candidates must meet the minimum quality assurance threshold for admission as stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training.

In 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training announced the minimum admission scores for health-related fields that require professional practice certificates: 22.5 points for medicine and dentistry; 21 points for pharmacy and traditional medicine; and 19 points for nursing, preventive medicine, midwifery, medical laboratory technology, medical imaging technology, rehabilitation technology, and dental prosthetics technology.
