The General Statistics Office has just announced that consumer goods and services prices in August showed mixed increases and decreases; in particular, food prices and housing rental prices increased compared to July 2024, while domestic gasoline and diesel prices decreased in line with world prices.

Overall, in August, the consumer price index (CPI) remained stable compared to the previous month. Compared to December 2023, the August CPI increased by 1.89%, and compared to the same period last year, it increased by 3.45%.

On average, in the first eight months of 2024, the CPI increased by 4.04% compared to the same period last year; core inflation increased by 2.71%.
