On August 26th, in Sweden, the Vietnamese Embassy in Sweden held a press conference on a series of events celebrating the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (1945-2024) and the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Sweden (1969-2024).

Accordingly, the Vietnamese Embassy in Sweden, in coordination with several Vietnamese authorities and Vietnamese associations in Sweden, organized the following events:
On Friday, September 6th, 2024, a series of special events will take place at the Musikaliska Kvarteret Theatre (address: Nybrokajen 11, 111 48 Stockholm).
The Vietnam-Sweden Business Forum 2024, organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Sweden in collaboration with the Vietnamese Trade Office in Sweden andFPT Group Vietnam, has the theme: “Digital Transformation - Energy Transformation - Innovation: Cooperation for a Sustainable Future”.
It is understood that the Vietnam-Sweden Business Forum 2024 will be co-chaired by Ambassador Tran Van Tuan and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long. This event will be an opportunity for businesses from both countries to network, exchange experiences, and explore cooperation opportunities, opening up new avenues for development in bilateral relations, contributing to the sustainable development and prosperity of both nations.
Speaking with a reporter from the Industry and Trade Newspaper, Mr. Tran Van Tuan, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Sweden and concurrently to Latvia, stated: "According to statistics from the Department of International Law - Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, out of 42 agreements and treaties between Vietnam and Sweden that are still in effect, 18 relate to the field of science and technology. Vietnam and Sweden have great potential for cooperation in the fields of digital transformation, energy transition, and innovation. Currently, several businesses from both sides are very interested in investing and doing business with each other's partners in these areas ."
This was followed by a celebration of the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Sweden, and a Vietnamese culinary reception.
Within the framework of this event are the Photo and Handicraft Exhibition organized by units under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam with the theme "Colors of Vietnamese Culture"; the Cat Ba Island Tourism Exhibition organized by the People's Committee of Hai Phong City; the Ao Dai fashion show performed by the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club of Hanoi City; the screening of the documentary film "Vietnam - Sweden: More than half a century of warm friendship"; and the musical performance program by artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music and Marladalen University (Sweden).
The series of events on September 6th is expected to attract around 600 guests and media representatives.
On September 8th, 2024, a musical performance by artists from the Vietnam National Academy of Music and the Malmo Academy of Music (Sweden), along with an exhibition of Vietnamese paintings and handicrafts, will take place at the Malmo Academy of Music Auditorium, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam. The program will be open to the public free of charge and for all music lovers.
On September 14, 2024, a grand music festival combined with a Vietnamese traditional dress (áo dài) fashion show featuring Vietnamese singers and artists will take place at the Sundspärlan Event Center (Helsingborg). The event is organized by the Vietnamese Women's Association in Sweden and is open to the public.
On September 21, 2024, a Vietnamese music and dance performance by artists from the Danderyd District Cultural Center in Stockholm will take place.
The Ho Chi Minh City Art Troupe will perform. The program, organized by the Vietnamese Association in Stockholm, is free and open to 150 Vietnamese fans who register early.
An exhibition of photographs commemorating 55 years of Vietnam-Sweden relations and the launch of a bilingual book in Vietnamese and Swedish titled "The Affection of the World's People for President Ho Chi Minh" will take place at the end of October. The event is expected to attract around 300 guests and media representatives.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Sweden hopes that the program commemorating the 79th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the series of events celebrating the 55th anniversary of Vietnam-Sweden relations mentioned above will contribute to further strengthening the traditional friendship between the two countries, while also providing Swedish citizens and businesses with more authentic, useful, and diverse information about Vietnam, its people, economy, and culture.
