According to data recently released by the online travel platform Booking.com, Da Nang and Hoi An continue to affirm their attractiveness when simultaneously entering the top 10 destinations that domestic and international tourists are most interested in searching for during the 2026 New Year holiday. This result reflects the strong shift in tourism trends towards domestic destinations rich in cultural and festival experiences and capable of meeting the diverse needs of tourists.
Booking.com said 69% of Vietnamese travelers chose to travel domestically during the New Year holiday this year, showing a clear preference for close, convenient and affordable itineraries. In addition to Da Nang and Hoi An, familiar destinations including Phu Quoc, Da Lat, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Sa Pa continue to be among the most searched destinations. These destinations are highly appreciated thanks to the pleasant climate at the beginning of the year, complete tourism infrastructure, and many new tourism products introduced in recent years.
For international tourists, Vietnam continues to be an attractive choice during the year-end and New Year holidays. They are particularly interested in unique cultural experiences, festival entertainment activities, ancient town spaces and rich natural landscapes. Hoi An – a World Cultural Heritage – is considered outstanding thanks to its ancient town system, New Year events and traditional experience programs. Meanwhile, Da Nang attracts strongly with its long beaches, modern entertainment complexes and a series of cultural and artistic events held throughout the Tet holiday.
The appearance of both Da Nang and Hoi An in the list of popular destinations for the two groups of tourists is considered a positive signal for the tourism industry in the Central region, especially in the context of localities making efforts to stimulate demand and diversify products. Tourism, accommodation and travel businesses in this area are now ready with many incentive programs, themed tours and New Year events to meet the expected increase in visitors.
