The 6th National Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Red Cross Society: Spreading the power of humanity

The 6th National Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, period 2025 - 2030, took place on the morning of November 23 in Hanoi with the theme: "Innovation, creativity, spreading the humanitarian power of Vietnam".

The Congress aims to summarize and comprehensively evaluate the patriotic emulation movement and reward work in the 2020-2025 period; propose directions, tasks and solutions for the emulation movement in the 2025-2030 period.

Attending the Congress were comrade Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, diplomatic agencies, international organizations and organizations in the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement; and 270 typical and advanced delegates representing all levels of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and enterprises nationwide who were commended and honored.

Party Central Committee Secretary, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet spoke at the congress.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet requested the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society to continue to thoroughly grasp Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on patriotic emulation and on humane Vietnamese people through concrete and practical actions; strongly promote the "Humanitarian Strength" and "Humanitarian Month" programs in the entire Society and the entire people; consider this an important factor in the patriotic emulation movement of the Society, contributing to building "Vietnamese people who are patriotic - humane - responsible - creative - integrated", thereby consolidating the spiritual strength and national culture in the new period, creating a fair, civilized and humane society.

Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission Trinh Van Quyet also suggested that the Association should strongly innovate the content and methods of emulation activities; link emulation with sustainable development programs and social security goals; proactively advise and propose policies on "humanitarian economy ", socialize humanitarian resources, encourage businesses, organizations and individuals to join hands to build a "humane society - no one is left behind"; promote humanitarian digital transformation, map the number of vulnerable people, modernize relief work, expand the volunteer network, strongly develop the blood donation movement and organ and tissue donation;...

Delegates performed the launching ceremony of the Patriotic Emulation Movement for the period 2025 - 2030.

In addition, the Vietnam Red Cross Society needs to closely coordinate with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations, build a humanitarian front for the entire people, contributing to strengthening people's trust in the Party and State, and deepening the relationship between the Party and the people through specific and practical humanitarian actions.

The Vietnam Red Cross Society needs to pay attention to building a new-age humanitarian cadre with deep patriotism, dedicated service to the people, sacrifice and compassion; with comprehensive professional capacity and soft skills; with strategic vision, professionalism and adaptability to coordinate and digital transformation capacity in humanitarian work; focus on developing the Red Cross youth force - the next generation carrying the flame of compassion in their hearts, contributing to educating ethics, personality and nurturing the aspiration to contribute to the community and the Fatherland.

At the congress, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) were awarded the Friendship Medal by the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

On this occasion, 209 individuals with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, period 2020 - 2025 received Certificates of Merit from the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society.

The program was implemented by the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee in coordination with Vietnam External Communications Joint Stock Company (VRI Media). The Organizing Committee also received the support of the following units: Vietnam National Energy and Industry Group; KN Holdings Group; Investment Promotion and Sustainable Development Joint Stock Company; Tan Dieu Zen Monastery contributed to the success of this Patriotic Emulation Congress.
