Identity of the man who slashed two passersby in Hai Phong

According to information from Hai Phong City Police, Kien An District Police have arrested a mentally ill man who was walking on the street and slashed two passersby on the evening of November 11.

This person was identified as Dong Van Nam (born in 1989, residing in An Thai commune, An Lao district, Hai Phong city).

At around 7:40 p.m. on November 11, Nam was walking on Hoang Thiet Tam Street (Kien An District) from Quan Tru Intersection to Ben Pha Market with a machete. While walking, he swung the knife and injured two people.

After receiving the information, Bac Son Ward Police in coordination with Kien An District Police Working Group arrived at the scene, quickly approached and restrained Dong Van Nam. Afterwards, the Working Group took this person to Bac Son Ward Police Headquarters for investigation and clarification.

According to the police, Dong Van Nam shows signs of mental illness.

Kien An District Police are investigating and handling the case.
