The 2024 Provincial Table Tennis Championship is a sporting event celebrating major provincial holidays, such as: the 99th anniversary of Vietnam's Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2024); the 24th anniversary of Vietnam's Family Day (June 28, 2001 - June 28, 2024); and the 117th anniversary of the founding of Lao Cai province (July 12, 1907 - July 12, 2024).
Attending the opening ceremony were leaders from the Department of Culture and Sports, the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, along with nearly 100 athletes from 11 table tennis clubs across the province.
The athletes competed in seven events: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles, men's team, and women's team.
Following the opening ceremony, several matches were held in the men's and women's singles events (photo below).
The tournament serves as a platform for table tennis enthusiasts; contributing to the expansion and development of the physical exercise and sports movement in the province, thereby improving the health of the people.
The closing ceremony and awards presentation are scheduled to take place at noon on June 23rd.
