The 2024-2025 coffee crop year concluded with record-high coffee prices, helping Vietnam achieve export revenue of over $8.4 billion for the first time.
According to data from the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), in September 2025 alone, Vietnam exported approximately 84,000 tons of coffee, bringing in $477 million. This was also the last month of the 2024-2025 coffee crop year, marking a year of remarkable growth.
For the entire crop year, total coffee export revenue reached US$8.437 billion, an increase of nearly US$3 billion compared to the previous year's record of US$5.43 billion. In terms of production, the figure also edged up to 1.518 million tons, 58,000 tons more than the previous year.
One of the key factors determining the success of Vietnam's coffee industry is the sharp increase in coffee prices. In February 2025, the price of Robusta coffee traded on the London exchange exceeded $5,800 per ton for the first time. On average, in the first eight months of 2025, the export price of Robusta reached $5,170 per ton, while Arabica reached $6,633 per ton.
Notably, domestic coffee prices were often more than 6,000 VND/kg higher than world prices. This price level helped coffee farmers and businesses have a bumper harvest in terms of both profit and yield.
Just a few years ago, Vietnam's coffee exports hovered around $3 billion annually. But now, the figure of over $8.4 billion demonstrates the spectacular breakthrough of the coffee industry, despite a shrinking planted area.
This is not only a record-breaking achievement but also a testament to the increasingly solid position of Vietnamese coffee on the world map. With this growth momentum, coffee is becoming one of the agricultural sectors that brings in the largest foreign exchange earnings for the country.
