Gia Lai: Training knowledge and professional skills for officials working in poverty reduction

On the morning of October 27, in Pleiku city, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province held a conference to foster knowledge, skills and expertise for staff working in poverty reduction by 2025.

The conference was attended by 96 officials in charge of poverty reduction work in 48 villages across 7 border communes of the province. Over two days, October 27th and 28th, the participants received training and were equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to enhance their capacity to organize and implement poverty reduction programs and projects at the grassroots level.

The training content focuses on guiding the implementation of poverty reduction work in 77 communes and wards in the western area of ​​the province in 2025, updating new policies, and methods for reviewing and assessing poor and near-poor households according to multidimensional standards. It also provides guidance on implementing communication activities to reduce information poverty and overcome information gaps in the community.

In addition to specialized topics, the conference also equipped participants with knowledge and skills in legal aid, social work, gender equality, and community communication skills, aiming to provide more effective support to the poor, vulnerable, and disadvantaged households. Through this, grassroots officials gained additional skills in approaching, mobilizing, and disseminating poverty reduction policies in a flexible manner, tailored to the specific characteristics of each locality and target group.

According to representatives from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, sustainable poverty reduction has always been a key task, contributing to socio -economic development, ensuring social security, and stabilizing people's lives, especially in border areas and remote regions. Organizing regular training courses not only helps officials grasp the Party and State's policies and guidelines but also enhances their practical skills, creating tangible changes in poverty reduction efforts at the grassroots level.

The conference is a practical activity that contributes to strengthening the team of officials working on poverty reduction in Gia Lai province, aiming towards the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, narrowing the development gap between regions, and improving the quality of life for the people.
