Gia Lai: Training knowledge and professional skills for officials working in poverty reduction

On the morning of October 27, in Pleiku city, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province held a conference to foster knowledge, skills and expertise for staff working in poverty reduction by 2025.

The conference was attended by 96 officials in charge of poverty reduction in 48 villages and hamlets in 7 border communes of the province. During 2 days, October 27 and 28, the trainees were trained and equipped with necessary knowledge and skills to improve their capacity to organize and implement poverty reduction programs and projects at the grassroots level.

The training content focuses on guiding the implementation of poverty reduction work in 77 communes and wards in the western region of the province by 2025, updating new policies, methods of reviewing and assessing poor and near-poor households according to multidimensional standards. At the same time, guiding the implementation of communication activities, information poverty reduction, and overcoming the lack of information in the community.

In addition to specialized topics, the conference also provides knowledge and skills on legal aid, social work, gender equality and community communication skills, in order to provide more effective support to the poor, the disadvantaged and households in difficult circumstances. Through this, grassroots staff have more skills to approach, advocate and propagate poverty reduction policies flexibly, suitable to the characteristics of each locality and each target group.

According to the representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, sustainable poverty reduction is always a key task, contributing to socio -economic development, ensuring social security and stabilizing people's lives, especially in border areas, remote and isolated areas. Organizing regular training courses not only helps cadres grasp the Party and State's policies and guidelines but also improves practical capacity, creating substantial changes in poverty reduction work at the grassroots level.

The conference is a practical activity, contributing to strengthening the team of cadres working on poverty reduction in Gia Lai province, aiming at the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, narrowing the development gap between regions, and improving the quality of life of people.
