In recent years, drone light shows have become familiar to the people of the capital and almost every program attracts a large audience. However, the Light Concert - Welcome New Year 2025 program organized by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with the People's Committee of Hanoi City and the People's Committee of Tay Ho District at the intersection of Lac Long Quan - Nguyen Hoang Ton Street on the evening of January 18 brought about impressions beyond expectations because of its difference. This difference was emphasized by General Director Dang Le Minh Tri: With the theme "Displaying your own style", the program creates an impression with its "own style", based on 4 pillars: Light, Music, Technology and Heritage.
On the ground, the music stage is designed to make viewers think of doors opening to new things. On that stage, the performances begin with familiar melodies, closely associated with Hanoians: Hanoians; Spring in the rice and flower villages; A glimpse of West Lake... Next, the program brings vibrant performances by famous music stars, interspersed with acts inspired by folk materials: My Tam, Do Hoang Hiep, Big Daddy, Emily... or singer Kieu Anh. The performances become even more vibrant with the participation of dance groups and troupes: FED crew, MTE...
And the difference of the program comes from the harmonious and smooth combination of light and technology when the drones appear in the sky. About 9,000 spectators in the fanzone area and tens of thousands of spectators "covering" the roads along West Lake cheered with excitement when the flying devices took turns forming the symbols of the Capital, the red flag with a yellow star and the words "Vietnam - the rising era"... One of the most impressive images was when the drones formed the shape of a golden dragon holding a pearl or the shape of a bird with peach blossoms welcoming the new year. Present at West Lake to enjoy the performances, Nguyen Minh Thai (student of Hanoi University of Industry) said: "Although I did not have tickets to the fanzone area, my friends and I arrived early, choosing a convenient location on the walking path along the lake, so I was able to watch the very impressive performances. Everyone was very excited, as if re-energized for the new year after watching this performance".
Hanoi is promoting cultural industry and night-time economy, in which the city calls for the participation of many entities, including central agencies located in the area, investors, and businesses in the cultural industry. This policy is specified in Resolution No. 09-NQ/TU on developing cultural industry in the capital for the period 2021-2025, oriented to 2030, vision to 2045 issued in February 2022. Since then, the cultural industry in the city has made many strong strides, attracting many participants. The Light Concert - New Year 2025 program is a vivid expression between state agencies and businesses in creating attractive products and events to promote the cultural industry. The image of tens of thousands of people "covering" the streets in the western area of West Lake cheering as 2025 colorful drones created shapes in the sky with musical melodies reminded many people of the scene of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival.
