The event opened a series of activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation (1950 - 2025) and the 108th anniversary of the October Revolution in Russia.
The event was organized by the Ho Chi Minh Museum in coordination with the Department of Political Theory and the Archives Department of the Central Party Office, under the direction of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

President Ho Chi Minh - National Liberation Hero, Outstanding Cultural Man devoted his whole life to the cause of independence, freedom, peace and social progress. In the journey to find a way to save the country, Soviet Russia, the homeland of the October Revolution and leader Lenin, had a special significance, deeply influencing the revolutionary activities of Nguyen Ai Quoc (Ho Chi Minh). Many places in Russia still preserve his footprints, becoming vivid symbols of the friendship between Vietnam and Russia.
This special exhibition introduces more than 260 typical documents, images and artifacts, recreating President Ho Chi Minh's journey to Russia - where Lenin's ideology and the victory of the October Revolution paved the way for the cause of national liberation of Vietnam.
The exhibition displays 03 outstanding parts including:
Part I: The man in search of the shape of the nation - Journey through Russia: In 1920, Nguyen Ai Quoc approached Lenin's Theses on the National and Colonial Questions and found the path to national liberation. During his three visits to Russia (1923 - 1924, 1927, 1934 - 1938), he studied and worked enthusiastically, accumulated theoretical and practical experience, and continued to defend and creatively apply Lenin's thoughts to the Vietnamese revolution.
Part II: Across the vast Soviet Union - Deepening friendship: After Vietnam gained independence, President Ho Chi Minh visited the Soviet Union many times, laying the foundation and nurturing the Vietnam - Soviet friendship. He visited all 15 republics of the Soviet Union, visited factories, farms, schools, museums... to learn about people's lives and achievements in building the country. Those visits left many good impressions and were appreciated by international friends.
Part III: Vietnam - Russia Friendship: Over the past 75 years, Vietnam and the Russian Federation have always maintained a loyal and steadfast traditional friendship. From the great support of the Soviet Union during the periods of national liberation struggles to the establishment of the Strategic Partnership (2001) and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (2012), Vietnam - Russia relations continue to be consolidated and strongly developed.

The exhibition also introduces a number of new artifacts and documents collected from the Russian Federation in 2025, such as: The book "The 5th World Congress of the Communist International in 1924" donated by lecturer Svetlana Glazunova and student Pavel Bolshkov (Moscow State University of International Relations).
Photos of the visit to the Soviet Union in 1955 and President Ho Chi Minh's guestbook in the Guest Book of Honor of the Ural Geological Museum, presented by the State Archives of Sverdlovsk Oblast and the Ural Geological Museum.
The thematic exhibition opens from December 8, 2025 and lasts until April 2026 at the Ho Chi Minh Museum, Hanoi.
