An oil depot caught fire on July 13 in the region after Ukraine launched a drone attack, the governor of Russia's Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, said.

On his Telegram page, Mr. Golubev said: "After a drone attack, a fire broke out at an oil refinery in the Tsimlyansky district," but caused no casualties.

The Rostov region is hundreds of kilometers from the front line.

Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces had shot down four Ukrainian drones - two in Rostov, one in the Belgorod region bordering Ukraine and another in Kursk further north.

Both Moscow and Kiev have used drones, including larger suicide attack aircraft with ranges of hundreds of kilometers, throughout the conflict that began in February 2022.

* Previously, on July 10, the Ukrainian Army launched a UAV targeting Russia's strategic missile testing center in Astrakhan province. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense's news site published a video of a UAV exploding on the assembly and testing building of the strategic missile testing center in Akhtubinsk district, Astrakhan province, Russia.

Video shows black smoke billowing from the roof of the building, followed by a loud explosion and flames erupting above the structure, but the exact damage is unclear.

The raid was Ukraine's latest attempt to attack Russia's strategic infrastructure.

* Regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry on July 12 issued a statement rejecting Moscow's accusation that Kiev is planning to carry out attacks on its own hydroelectric dams to blame Russia.

Earlier, TASS news agency quoted Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova as saying that Ukraine was plotting to destroy two dams as "another weak provocation against Russia".

* Regarding the Ukraine Peace Summit, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Galuzin recently said that Russia will not attend the Ukraine peace summits, because Kiev ignored Moscow's proposal.

Deputy Minister Mikhail Galuzin said that the first Ukraine peace summit, attended by representatives of more than 90 countries and international organizations in Switzerland last month, was a "failure". "We know that Ukraine and its Western sponsors intend to restore their image after the previous failed peace summit. They tried to organize a similar event and invited Russia to participate," Mr. Galuzin said.
