To promote the value of A Rieu chili, Dong Giang district focuses on processing, creating many products from A Rieu chili, increasing added value; along with that, actively participating in trade promotion activities to promote A Rieu chili to consumers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao, Thu Thao Wine and Agricultural and Forestry Products Production Facility (Prao Town, Dong Giang District, Quang Nam Province) said that up to now, the facility has processed more than 10 products from A Rieu Chili, and is being positively received by consumers because this chili flavor is very unique, aromatic and spicy. A Rieu Chili products include salted A Rieu chili, A Rieu chili sauce, A Rieu chili salt, A Rieu chili powder... and are present in many domestic markets such as: Hue, Quang Tri, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi... and further exported to other countries.
Currently, the output of A Rieu chili products is mainly consumed by Ma Cooih Agriculture and Forestry Cooperative and small traders buy and sell fresh and salted chili at production and business establishments, markets, and stores in the district.
The product price is from 250,000 VND - 350,000 VND/kg of fresh chili, many times higher than other types of chili on the market, creating a source of income for people. However, the growing area is still small, scattered among households, the distribution chain of A Rieu chili products is still quite simple and the A Rieu chili products consumed are mainly chili, fresh salted chili, so it is still monotonous, unstable and not yet commodity-like.
