Leading us on a tour of some of the unit's training models, Lieutenant Colonel Vu Xuan Loi, Head of Political Affairs of the 405th Armored Brigade, said that in recent years, the 405th Armored Brigade has always been one of the leading agencies and units of Military Region 3 in the "Skilled Mass Mobilization" emulation movement, and has been recognized by superiors as a "Good Mass Mobilization Unit" for many consecutive years.

To achieve these results, the unit has always closely coordinated with local Party committees, authorities, departments, and mass organizations to promote and improve the effectiveness of propaganda and mobilization work among the people. Through field training combined with mass mobilization work, the unit has strengthened exchange and fraternal activities, helping people develop the economy and alleviate poverty.

Over the past five years, the unit has successfully implemented local movements and campaigns such as: "The Army joins hands in building new rural areas"; "Building a good, healthy, and rich cultural environment in the Army"; "All people unite to build a cultured life"...

From 2020 to the present, the unit has organized its soldiers to participate in assisting the people for over 6,000 man-days, constructing 1.5km of new concrete roads, upgrading 69.2km of inter-village roads, dredging 7km of irrigation canals, building 350m of reinforced irrigation ditches, constructing one new concrete bridge, 500m of boundary walls, and one outdoor stage... In addition, the unit has also donated and contributed to various funds with a total amount of 1.237 billion VND.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Vu Ngoc Trieu, Deputy Political Commissar of the 405th Signal Brigade, to achieve these results, the unit proactively selects officers and soldiers annually to participate in training courses on methods and styles for conducting mass mobilization work, especially for Party committee members in charge of mass mobilization teams; actively exchanges experiences, best practices, and effective models among agencies and units; seriously conducts preliminary and final reviews; and promptly commends and rewards collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the movement.

During field training combined with community outreach activities, the unit regularly organizes coordinated cultural, artistic, and sports exchanges with affiliated agencies, units, and schools, aiming to strengthen solidarity and close ties between the unit and the Party committee, government, and people in the area. The unit's grassroots Youth Union has closely coordinated with local Youth Union organizations to successfully organize activities such as cultural and artistic exchanges, "Lighting Candles of Gratitude" at Martyrs' Cemeteries, and giving gifts to families of policy beneficiaries...

In addition, the unit is ready to mobilize forces and resources to participate in disaster prevention and control, search and rescue in all situations to protect the lives and property of the people. A prime example is Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi) in September 2024, when the unit mobilized over 1,000 man-days and nearly 100 vehicles of various types to help the people of Uong Bi city, Dong Trieu town (Quang Ninh province) and Kinh Mon town (formerly Hai Duong province) clean up, evacuate people's homes, fill sandbags, reinforce dikes to prevent flooding, and mitigate the aftermath of the storm.

Mr. Tran Van Thien, Party Secretary and Head of Nam Giai village, Trang Luong commune, Dong Trieu city (now Binh Khe ward), Quang Ninh province, emotionally shared: "At the end of 2022, officers and soldiers of the 405th Tank Brigade helped the locality renovate the irrigation canal in Nam Giai village, approximately 140 meters long. Previously, during the rainy season, this section of the canal was often clogged and overflowing, negatively affecting the people's crops. Due to a lack of manpower and funding, the locality had not been able to completely resolve this situation. After 10 days of urgent and continuous work, the unit built a new, sturdy canal system with concrete covers, ensuring good quality and completing it ahead of schedule. The people of Nam Giai village are very grateful to the soldiers of the 405th Tank Brigade."

To effectively promote mass mobilization work in the coming period, according to Lieutenant Colonel Vu Ngoc Trieu, the unit will continue to proactively propose contents and measures for conducting mass mobilization work that are closely aligned with the requirements and tasks of the agency and unit, and are highly feasible; at the same time, it will promote the role of mass organizations, actively participate in exchange and fraternal activities, contributing to the successful implementation of the unit's mass mobilization tasks.

In addition, the unit proactively coordinates with local Party committees, authorities, and mass organizations, actively responding to campaigns to support charitable funds; propagating and mobilizing the people and ethnic minorities to abandon inefficient, manual farming practices and gradually shift their agricultural and forestry production mindset towards commodity production, linked with accelerating the process of building new rural areas... "Through mass mobilization work, the Brigade has discovered and replicated models and exemplary cases in the unit's Emulation Movements for Victory, linked with the 'Skilled Mass Mobilization' and 'Army's Joint Efforts in Building New Rural Areas' emulation movements," Lieutenant Colonel Vu Ngoc Trieu affirmed.
