The special national relic of Van Mieu-Quoc Tu Giam, Hanoi, has just added a reading culture space, bringing more experiences to visitors.
On the afternoon of August 18, at Ho Van, the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam launched the Reading Culture Space, marking a new step in the effort to build a learning society, promoting the spirit of reading and lifelong learning.
“The Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam reading cultural space” was formed with the goal of connecting heritage-knowledge-community, encouraging people's active participation in cultural life.
The reading space at Ho Van offers readers a wide range of knowledge: History, culture of Thang Long-Hanoi, tradition of mandarin examinations, famous Vietnamese Confucian scholars, literature and art, life skills... In particular, the "Thang Long Thousand Years of Culture Bookcase" set of Hanoi Publishing House contributes to affirming the sustainable value of knowledge that Thang Long-Hanoi has cultivated for thousands of years.

The reading culture space currently has nearly 1,000 books donated by various organizations and a large number of books circulated from the Hanoi Cultural Center and Library.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Dr. Le Xuan Kieu, Director of the Center for Cultural and Scientific Activities of the Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, said that with the support of publishers and bookstores, the Hanoi Cultural Center and Library have launched a bookcase with a free reading space for the public and visitors.
This becomes a community activity spot, creating an ecosystem along with the experiential activities of Ho Van, contributing to making Ho Van a space with many activities serving visitors and contributing to the development of the city's cultural industry.

The launch of the Reading Cultural Space comes from the orientation of promoting the value of Ho Van, a space associated with the Quoc Tu Giam relic, and at the same time gradually turning this place into a "knowledge playground" of the Capital.
The special feature of this place is that all people can access and read on the spot for free. This open service contributes to realizing the policy of building a learning society, encouraging lifelong learning, and at the same time creating opportunities for visitors to the relic to have a deeper experience.
Not only for reading, this will be a place to organize exchange activities and creative experiences associated with reading culture and heritage. This model is expected to gradually become a typical public cultural space, contributing to the development of unique cultural and tourism industrial products of the Capital./.
