Actor Thai Son (born in 1983, from Hung Yen) was a student of the Cheo class, Faculty of Traditional Theatre, Hanoi University of Theatre and Cinema. Graduated in 2006, he joined the Vietnam Cheo Theatre.
In his career as a Cheo performer, Thai Son has achieved many outstanding achievements. In 2009, Thai Son won the silver medal at the National Comedy Competition organized by the Vietnam Stage Artists Association.
In 2011, he won a silver medal for his role as a rickshaw driver in "Thuy van xung nhau" at the first National Comedy Festival in Quang Ninh and for his role as the village chief in the play "Bac Le Den Thieng" at the 2013 National Cheo Arts Festival in Hai Phong .

In 2014, with the role of Mr. Han - an old Cheo actor who deeply misses the roles he played in his life and also the "model roles" in Cheo art - he won a gold medal in the National Professional Cheo Stage Actor Talent Competition organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
In 2016, at the National Professional Cheo Theatre Art Competition, he won a silver medal for his role in the play " Dialogue of the Fatherland" . In the same year 2016, he won second prize, Professional Category, My Village Cheo Festival held in Hung Yen.
Besides, the actor also soon revealed his talent for comedy roles. In comedy, Thai Son acted well with many veteran and famous artists such as: Xuan Hinh, Thanh Thanh Hien, Hong Van, Trung Ruoi,...
Talking about the fate that led him to become a comedian, in a conversation with Dan Tri reporter, Thai Son once said that People's Artist Tu Long was his first acting teacher. Thai Son's two uncles, Cheo artists Xuan Theo and Xuan Dinh, asked People's Artist Tu Long to teach him how to act.
"The most memorable memory in my life is the skit that Tu Long guided me through while preparing for the entrance exam to Hanoi Academy of Theatre and Cinema. The skit was called Stealing Fish.
Mr. Tu Long's acting is very clear and detailed, and his singing is very good. I feel lucky that my first "strokes" in my career were taught by a meticulous person like Mr. Tu Long. In my later career, I have had more or less positive influences from Mr. Tu Long," Thai Son said.

Thai Son emotionally shared about his role of a lifetime: "The role that impressed me the most was probably the role of the old man asking for a wife in Renting a Husband for Mom .
This role helped me have many firsts in my life, it was the first time I practiced, stood on a very grand and professional stage Xuan Phat Tai with famous and veteran artists such as: Xuan Hinh, Hong Van, Thanh Thanh Hien... The compliments from the audience are the motivation, helping me love my job more."
Talking about the difficulties he faced in the early days of his acting career, the actor said that it was getting used to and interacting with the script.
"At first, I was only interested in memorizing the lyrics. When studying in school, there was little time for "real-life" work, so script writing was even more difficult. Self-study, improvement, transformation, and application of learned knowledge into practice are extremely important.
Gradually, I found my own language of expression and action, and now I also absorb the dialogue more naturally," Thai Son said.
Having been involved in the arts for nearly 20 years, Thai Son has only recently become widely known to the public through his roles in prime-time Vietnamese films on VTV.

The audience cannot forget the unique, colorful roles with impressive transformation ability of Thai Son such as: "sissy" Tu in Under the shade of the happy tree , the guest selling "eternal resort real estate" in My family is unexpectedly happy , most recently the character A Ruou in Cuoc chien khong tuyen and Dieu phach che nuoc khoai - a cold-blooded and mysterious killer in Biet duoc den.
Thai Son shared that participating in TV dramas, he only feels like he "gained" a lot.
"Vietnamese television now has many good films. As an actor who gets to participate in film projects, I am very proud! Because I get to act, make people laugh, be loved by many audiences, and get many things," the actor told Dan Tri reporter.
Thai Son added that humorous roles are his forte but are not a limitation in his acting.
"As an actor, of course everyone wants to play many different roles, to transform and live many lives. In the very near future, the audience will see Son play a role with a different color than what people have seen before," he said.

When asked: "Of the characters you've played on VTV recently, which character are you most satisfied with?", Thai Son said that he was satisfied with every character and also felt a bit regretful when watching them again, that if he could play them again, he might have acted better.
"Maybe it's just greed and perfectionism, but overall, I observed that the audience also praised him a lot," Thai Son confided. With his versatile acting skills, Thai Son was nominated by the audience to play Bac Dau in the Tao Quan program.
Thai Son affirmed that he is grateful for the audience's favor, but it is difficult for anyone to replace People's Artist Cong Ly.
"With the Bac Dau brand that People's Artist Cong Ly has built over the years, I think it's hard for anyone to replace him," Thai Son once confided.
