On August 21, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly questioned members of the Government.

The Standing Committee of the National Assembly will hold question-and-answer sessions from August 21st to the morning of August 22nd in the Dien Hong Room of the National Assembly building, and will connect via live video link to 62 National Assembly delegations in provinces and cities, covering two groups of fields.

The first group of areas involves the implementation of resolutions of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on specialized supervision and questioning from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term until the end of 2023, in the following fields: Agriculture and Rural Development; Industry and Trade; Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The second group of areas is the implementation of resolutions of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on specialized supervision and questioning from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term until the end of 2023, including the following fields: justice; internal affairs; security, order, and social safety; inspection; courts; and prosecution.

The questioning will not be conducted in groups of issues as in regular sessions, but will instead focus on questioning members of the Government and heads of relevant ministries about shortcomings and limitations in the implementation of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly's resolutions on specialized supervision and questioning from the beginning of the 15th National Assembly term until the end of 2023.

The question posed by a National Assembly representative will be directly answered by the individual responsible for the issue, as directed by the presiding officer. The person answering the question will not present a report but may speak on the issue for no more than 5 minutes before the National Assembly representative begins questioning.

Each round involves 3-5 delegates asking questions, with each delegate having no more than 1 minute to ask a question; the person being questioned has no more than 3 minutes to answer each question.

During the questioning session, National Assembly deputies have the right to debate with the person answering the questions, to clarify issues that have been answered but not satisfactorily; the debate time shall not exceed 2 minutes (National Assembly deputies register to question and debate via the National Assembly App).

At the conclusion of the questioning session, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly issued a resolution to serve as the basis for implementation.

The questioning session was broadcast live on the Voice of Vietnam radio station and televised live on Vietnam National Assembly Television and Vietnam Television so that voters could follow and monitor it.
