The National Exchange Program on Exemplary Models in Studying and Following the Ideology, Morality, and Style of Ho Chi Minh 2024, titled “Ho Chi Minh - Journey of Aspiration 2024: Innovation and Development,” jointly organized by the Central Propaganda Department and Vietnam Television, took place in Hanoi on the evening of November 15th.

Comrade To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, presented a commemorative plaque to Ms. Ha Thi Tu, Party Branch Secretary and Head of Cao Hoong village, Lung Cao commune, Ba Thuoc district, Thanh Hoa province.

The National Exchange Program for Exemplary Individuals and Collectives in Studying and Following the Ideology, Morality, and Style of Ho Chi Minh is held annually to honor and connect exemplary individuals and collectives nationwide who are outstanding examples in studying and following the ideology, morality, and style of Ho Chi Minh.

In 2024, the program continued to honor outstanding examples and models from all three regions of Vietnam, focusing on: the creativity and effectiveness of the models; the difficulties encountered; and the solutions to overcome them. Through this, localities, agencies, and units exchanged experiences; built and replicated good models and effective methods; and spread the aspiration to learn from and follow President Ho Chi Minh's example, from awareness to action.

The program honored 7 exemplary models and 18 outstanding individuals nationwide, including Ms. Ha Thi Tu, Party Secretary and Head of Cao Hoong village, Lung Cao commune, Ba Thuoc district, Thanh Hoa province, as a prime example.

Through a project by the French NGO GRET, Cao Hoong village is one of the villages in Thanh Hoa province that received funding for solar energy lighting equipment. Ms. Tu was one of four ethnic minority women from disadvantaged villages in the province selected to attend a solar energy training course from March to September 2015 at Barefoot School in Tilonia, India.

Determined to bring light to her village, and overcoming the language barrier, after six months of study, she was able to connect the electrical circuits of a portable lamp, operate the charging controller and power inverter, and assemble complete components.

When the solar-powered streetlights arrived, she personally installed them for households in Cao Hoong village and the two villages of Kit and Pon. Whenever someone's light broke, they would call Ms. Tu to fix it, bringing joy and light to the villagers. Her work over the years has helped the impoverished village improve its situation, and eased some of the hardships faced by its people.

25 individuals and groups were honored as outstanding examples nationwide in studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh in 2024.

Speaking at the program, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the practical and beneficial actions, the movement to study and follow Uncle Ho's teachings, with the specific and very noble deeds of advanced individuals and exemplary models. These are fragrant flowers in the forest of a thousand good deeds, role models continuing the example of studying and following Uncle Ho's teachings, contributing to continuing the glorious history of the Ho Chi Minh era.

The General Secretary emphasized: “Forever grateful for the immense contributions of the great President Ho Chi Minh, the brilliant leader of our Party and nation, the national liberation hero, the exemplary international communist fighter, the outstanding cultural figure, the embodiment of Vietnamese intellect and spirit, we increasingly see the urgent need to continuously learn from and follow his example at a new level, which is powerfully propelling the country into a new era, an era of development, an era of prosperity, standing shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the world, as President Ho Chi Minh wished and the entire nation hoped.”

General Secretary To Lam suggested that in the coming period, Party committees and governments at all levels, especially their leaders, should build upon the achievements already made, develop plans and specific solutions, and set an example in making the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style a self-driven cultural need for every cadre, Party member, and all strata of the people.
