In the face of the situation where many hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City have been converted to other functions, devoting all their capacity to treating and providing emergency care for Covid-19 patients but are still overloaded, Phuong Nam Cultural Joint Stock Company (the parent company of Phuong Nam Bookstore) has called for the cooperation of staff and employees, along with the contributions of philanthropists, to organize many volunteer activities, donate medical equipment and supplies to units participating in the fight against the epidemic, and provide many practical support packages to people in difficulty.

Specifically, recently, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoat, General Director of the Company, donated 1 Mekics multi-purpose high-end ventilator (worth 360 million VND) to An Binh Covid-19 Treatment Hospital (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) and 2,000 protective equipment for medical staff (including C3 protective clothing and N95 masks) to Trung Vuong Covid-19 Treatment Hospital (District 10, Ho Chi Minh City). These equipment and supplies were purchased directly from partners specializing in providing equipment to hospitals, meeting the exact needs and standards of disease prevention and control.
In addition, in order to share the thoughts and feelings of doctors and nurses when they have to temporarily leave their families to focus all their efforts on treating patients, Phuong Nam has coordinated with the Center for Healthcare Innovation Research (CHIR) to organize a letter writing and drawing contest "I love my blouse", for children of medical staff and employees nationwide. The results of the contest will be announced after September 10.

In addition, responding to the call of the authorities to reduce the burden on the supermarket system and food supply chains in the city to solve the shortage during the time Ho Chi Minh City implemented strict social distancing measures, Phuong Nam's volunteer group called on benefactors to contribute and implemented non-profit agricultural product sales activities. These mobile agricultural product sales points provide 4-5 tons of vegetables every day; the total distribution during the implementation period was more than 52 tons of agricultural products to thousands of households.
“All volunteer activities are carefully organized, closely monitored and quickly implemented to ensure the safety of the implementation team and comply with the Government 's disease prevention regulations,” said Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoat.
