NTO - Conference to review the coordination work between the Market Management Departments of provinces and cities in the Central region.

On June 26th, the Provincial Market Management Department (MMD) held the 16th Conference on Coordination between Market Management Departments of provinces and cities in the Central and Central Highlands regions in 2023. Attending the conference were: Mr. Phan Tan Canh, Standing Committee Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 389; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Market Management; and representatives, officials, and staff from 18 Market Management Departments of provinces and cities in the Central and Central Highlands regions.

Over the past year, closely following the direction of the Government, the National Steering Committee 389, the People's Committees of provinces and cities, and the Market Management Departments of provinces and cities in the Central and Southern regions have strengthened their monitoring of the situation, proactively implemented market inspection and control plans; and actively coordinated and exchanged information among units. As a result, the Market Management forces of the provinces promptly detected and organized inspections and handled many large-scale violations, contributing to effectively preventing smuggling, trade fraud, and illegal business activities. Consequently, from June 2022 to May 2023, units in the region conducted 19,740 inspections with a total fine revenue of over 61 billion VND. Specifically, the Ninh Thuan Market Management Department alone conducted 698 inspections, processed 262 cases, with a total fine of over 1.2 billion VND, and confiscated and destroyed goods worth over 1.6 billion VND.

Comrade Phan Tan Canh, Standing Committee member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee 389, attended the conference.

Simultaneously, during the inspection process, the authorities combined propaganda, guidance, and mobilization efforts to encourage businesses, organizations, and individuals engaged in production and business to sign commitments to strictly comply with legal regulations in their production and business activities.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Phan Tan Canh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the results of the coordinated work of the Market Management forces of the provinces and cities in the region, which have achieved important results in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and violations of the law in commercial business activities. This has contributed to market stability, promoted production development, and created a fair and healthy competitive environment. The Vice Chairman also highly appreciated the achievements of the Provincial Market Management Department in ensuring market stability, combating smuggling, counterfeit goods, and other acts of trade fraud; and protecting the legitimate rights of businesses and consumers in the province.

In his directive speech, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Market Management, requested that the Market Management Departments in the Central and Southern regions strengthen market inspection and control, effectively playing their role as the core force in combating smuggling, counterfeit goods, and stabilizing the market in their respective localities; regularly exchange information and coordinate effectively to achieve high efficiency in their professional work; pay attention to effective communication; and strengthen the dissemination of legal regulations on production and business to organizations and individuals to help people raise their awareness of complying with the law.
