This afternoon, February 23rd, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and other relevant departments and units to review the organization of the first Peace Festival in 2024. According to Le Minh Tuan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in implementing Plan 233/KH-UBND dated December 10, 2023, of the Provincial People's Committee on organizing the first Peace Festival in 2024, the department has focused on preparing for the event.
Specifically, a framework and program have been developed for the following activities: Cycling Day for Peace, from June 29-30; Opening Ceremony of the Festival for Peace at 8 PM on July 6 at the Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Special Monument; Music Exchange "Melodies of Peace" on July 8 at the Provincial Cultural and Film Center; Cultural and Culinary Festival from July 12-14 at the Cua Viet Beach Tourist Area; "Aspiration for Peace" program at 8 PM on July 26 at the flower-releasing dock on the North bank of the Thach Han River and the Quang Tri Ancient Citadel National Special Monument...
In addition, the department drafted a decision to establish the Festival Organizing Committee and four subcommittees: content, publicity, security and order, and logistics, with specific and detailed members and tasks; and a plan for assigning specific tasks to departments, agencies, and localities. It also advised the Provincial People's Committee on working with central ministries and agencies such as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance , the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, the Vietnam Bishops' Conference, and the People's Committees of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to support the organization of the festival.
Drafting documents to be sent to Thanh Nien Newspaper requesting support in media coverage and organization of the Cycling for Peace Day; sending invitations and organizing meetings with agencies and units to implement consulting, networking, and support activities for organizing the festival.
Collaborated with Sun Bright Creative Arts and Events Joint Stock Company to develop a communication plan and brand identity for the festival. Collaborated with Vietnam Travel magazine to develop a plan for organizing the Cultural and Culinary Festival and the International Kite Show.
In coordination with the Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board, survey the planned locations for activities, important historical sites, and other potential sites throughout the province to agree on proposals for the restoration and renovation of necessary items to serve the festival, with funding from the provincial budget and social contributions...
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam acknowledged and highly appreciated the thorough preparation of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, as well as the partnership with the province in events by Sun Bright Creative Arts and Events Joint Stock Company.
It is affirmed that the Festival for Peace is the largest and most anticipated festival ever held. Therefore, it is necessary to encourage the participation of the entire society; to highlight the contributions, roles, and responsibilities of everyone, and to make everyone understand the value of living in peace.
Therefore, it is suggested that the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism continue to review the composition and assignment of responsibilities of the subcommittees; the Festival Organizing Committee should advise on the working regulations to ensure unified leadership and direction of the festival's activities. A clear roadmap of activities from now until the festival is held should be defined. Attention should be paid to urgently working with the key units organizing the festival activities. The Department of Finance is requested to prepare sufficient resources to support the festival...
