Reviewing the progress of preparations for organizing activities commemorating the 1100th anniversary of the birth of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang and the Hoa Lu Festival in 2024.

On the afternoon of March 26th, the Organizing Committee of the Hoa Lu Festival 2024 held a conference to review the progress of preparations and organization of activities commemorating the 1100th anniversary of the birth of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang (924-2024) and the Hoa Lu Festival 2024.

Comrade Tong Quang Thin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Head of the Organizing Committee for the Hoa Lu Festival 2024, chaired the meeting. Also attending were members of the Organizing Committee; the Department of Construction; and Truong Yen commune.

The conference heard a report from the leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports on the progress of implementing Plan No. 157/KH-UBND dated October 20, 2023, of the Provincial People's Committee on organizing the Hoa Lu Festival in 2024; and Plan No. 41/KH-UBND dated March 5, 2024, adjusting and supplementing some contents of Plan No. 157.

Accordingly, the 1100th anniversary of the birth of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang (924-2024) will be celebrated, and the Hoa Lu Festival 2024 will be inaugurated on a provincial scale, recognizing its status as a national intangible cultural heritage. The festival will be held over three days, from April 17-19 (corresponding to the 9th-11th days of the third lunar month) at the Hoa Lu Ancient Capital Special National Monument Area.

The festival includes traditional rituals (temple opening ceremony, water procession, bathing ceremony, incense offering ceremony, offering ceremony, palanquin procession, nine-part sacrificial ceremony, traditional sacrificial ceremony, prayer for national peace and prosperity, lantern festival, thanksgiving ceremony) and cultural and sports activities, folk games, exhibitions, and camps within the festival space…

To date, the tasks assigned to various sectors, units, districts, and cities have been implemented according to schedule.

The Department of Culture and Sports, in coordination with local authorities, has implemented visual propaganda and promotion activities along several main roads in Ninh Binh city, the Hoa Lu ancient capital area, the temples of King Dinh and King Le, and the festival grounds. Emphasis has also been placed on beautifying the landscape of the temples of King Dinh and King Le, the festival grounds, the archaeological exhibition area south of the King Le temple, and ensuring environmental hygiene in the festival grounds.

The logistical arrangements for the opening ceremony of the Festival and the welcoming art program are being meticulously planned by the Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with relevant agencies and units; the ceremonial and festive activities are being actively prepared by Hoa Lu district and other localities and units...

At the conference, representatives from the member units of the Hoa Lu Festival Organizing Committee reported on the progress of implementing assigned tasks and proposed issues arising during the implementation process for the Organizing Committee to consider and provide feedback on: planning of sales locations and booth organization; traffic management and ensuring traffic flow, security, and safety at the Festival; coordination between local authorities, functional agencies, and forces in ensuring the conditions for organizing the Festival; publicity about the event on mass media; power supply plan; environmental sanitation, etc.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Tong Quang Thin, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Organizing Committee for the Hoa Lu Festival 2024, emphasized: 2024 marks the 1100th anniversary of the birth of King Dinh Tien Hoang (924-2024). This is an important event that the province is paying close attention to, organizing a series of unique and meaningful activities associated with the Hoa Lu Festival 2024 to commemorate and express gratitude for the great contributions of the emperors and ancestors in the cause of building and protecting the country; and to awaken the tradition of indomitable patriotism, national pride, and self-respect.

Successfully organizing the festival will significantly contribute to promoting the unique cultural features and famous landmarks of Ninh Binh to friends both domestically and internationally. Therefore, the comrade requested that agencies, units, and localities continue to closely adhere to their assigned tasks, focusing on implementation to ensure quality, efficiency, and timely completion.

In particular, a high level of focus is needed on propaganda work and ensuring logistical support. The Department of Culture and Sports is requested to coordinate closely with relevant units to effectively carry out the bidding process, finalize the script, and organize the implementation of the art program commemorating the 1100th anniversary of the birth of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang and the Hoa Lu Festival in 2024...

In addition, attention should be paid to the plan for receiving delegates, ensuring security and order, traffic management, fire prevention, and environmental sanitation.

Agreeing with some of the proposals from representatives of the member units of the Festival Organizing Committee, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Festival Organizing Committee also requested that localities, units, and functional agencies proactively carry out their tasks, ensuring appropriateness and contributing to the successful organization of activities commemorating the 1100th anniversary of the birth of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang and the Hoa Lu Festival in 2024.
