Ready to organize the first international math competition in Da Nang

*The Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology (VKU) is the venue for most of the main activities of the exam.*

The 25th VIMC International Mathematics Competition was held in Da Nang from August 14th to 19th, with the participation of 526 contestants, 181 teachers, and 100 international guests from 31 countries and territories.

2025 marks the first time the prestigious International Mathematics Competition (IMC) will be held in Da Nang City. Therefore, the city is meticulously reviewing and preparing all organizational aspects to leave a positive impression on international participants.

Following the directives of the City People's Committee, in recent days, relevant departments, agencies, and units have urgently implemented preparatory work with specific tasks, ensuring all conditions are ready to guarantee the successful conduct of the exam.

Therefore, the university has focused its human and material resources on building the stage, hanging banners and signs, ensuring the availability of exam rooms, desks and chairs, and other related tasks.

Dr. Huynh Ngoc Tho, Vice Rector of VKU, said that to ensure the exam was conducted thoroughly, the university collaborated with the Da Nang Department of Education and Training and the International Mathematical Commission (IMC) to organize intensive training for invigilators and examiners.

In addition, the school mobilized nearly 100 student volunteers and trained them on the necessary skills, especially communication, foreign language, and service skills, to support international delegations from the airport and throughout all activities of the exam.

In particular, regarding the preparation of facilities, the school is urgently setting up the stage and auditorium for the opening and closing ceremonies with a capacity of approximately 1,500 people; and preparing the decorations, sound, and lighting in a professional manner.

Classrooms and examination rooms are equipped with air conditioning, lighting, and standard-compliant desks and chairs. The internet system and information technology infrastructure are checked and upgraded to ensure seamless connectivity, effectively supporting the organization, grading, and communication of exams.

The school has also prepared nearly 200 dormitory rooms to accommodate the students participating in this exam. In addition, functional rooms, rest areas, the library, and the canteen have been renovated and are clean and ready to serve students, parents, and international examiners.
