With the participation of 256 athletes, including 128 of the world’s top athletes, this year’s Hanoi Open Pool is offering fans top-notch matches and technical performances.

Meanwhile, Matchroom Multi Sports CEO Emily Frazer shared: “We are having a great tournament. Hanoi Open Pool 2024 started with 256 players from many countries around the world, and now only 16 of the best players remain, including 10 Asian players. They will continue to give us exciting and dramatic matches and, together with the enthusiastic cheers of the fans, will once again resonate to create an unforgettable atmosphere of the tournament," said Ms. Frazer.
Shane Van Boening unexpectedly stopped early despite being highly rated
After the opening ceremony, the round of 16 matches took place, and there were some surprises when the legendary Shane Van Boening had to stop before Harry Vergara. This was the first time the Filipino player participated in the Hanoi Open Pool and he won a ticket through the qualifying round.
Jayson Shaw is the defending champion of the tournament.
Johann Chua is also a highly regarded player.
Vergara's presence helps the Philippines have 4 representatives in the quarterfinals with Carlo Biado, Johann Chua, Jeffrey Roda, and they, along with the championship candidates Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, Ko Pin Yi, and the defending champion Jayson Shaw, continue to create attractive confrontations to find the best athletes for the semi-finals as well as the finals which will take place on October 13.
