According to RT, on March 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed the nation about the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Moscow on the evening of March 22. The Russian leader called the terrorist attack "bloody and barbaric" and vowed to punish all those involved. In a video address, Mr. Putin declared a national day of mourning tomorrow (March 24) to commemorate the victims of the attack. The Russian President also expressed gratitude to law enforcement agencies, officers who responded to the attack and all ordinary people who helped the victims. "In Moscow and in the Moscow region, as well as in all other regions of Russia, additional anti-terrorist and anti-sabotage measures have been applied. The important thing now is to prevent those behind this bloody attack from committing new crimes," President Putin emphasized. The Russian leader has vowed to punish all those behind the attack. He said 11 suspects - including four who were directly involved in the shooting - have been arrested so far. Mr Putin added that some of the suspects had been caught fleeing "in the direction of Ukraine, where, according to preliminary data, a 'window' for crossing the border has been prepared on the Ukrainian side". However, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has insisted that Kiev had nothing to do with the terrorist attack in Moscow, and that suggestions of a Ukrainian connection "have nothing to do with reality".
The attack took place at the Crocus City Hall concert hall in the Crocus shopping mall in Krasnogorsk, Moscow region, Russia on the evening of March 22. Russian media reported that about 2 to 5 people wearing camouflage broke into the concert hall, then opened fire with automatic weapons and threw "grenades" or "petrol bombs", causing a fire. ISIS-K, an Afghanistan-based branch of the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS), claimed responsibility for the attack. So far, this attack has killed at least 133 people and injured more than 100./.
