Deploying construction of 500kV Quang Tri transformer station and connecting line Quang Tri

Today, March 20th, in Hai Truong commune, Hai Lang district, the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) held a ceremony to launch the construction of the Quang Tri 500kV Substation and the connecting transmission line from Quang Tri to Vung Ang and Da Nang . The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Nguyen Dang Quang, and the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Le Duc Tien, attended the ceremony.

Construction is underway on the 500kV Quang Tri substation and the connecting transmission line from Quang Tri to Vung Ang - Da Nang.

This is an urgent power project in the National Power Development Plan aimed at ensuring electricity supply to the regional load; relieving the capacity of the Quang Tri Power Plant and the Hai Lang LNG Plant into the national power grid system and improving the reliability and safety of electricity supply to the regional power grid.

The project scope includes the construction of a 500 kV substation to supply transmission voltages of 500 kV and 220 kV, with a capacity of two 500 kV-2x(3x300) MVA transformers. It also includes the construction of a 500 kV Quang Tri transmission line, connecting to and from the existing 500 kV Da Nang - Ha Tinh and Da Nang - Vung Ang lines, comprising two branches with a total length of 5.9 km, and a 3.6 km long 22 kV auxiliary line.

The total investment for the project is nearly 966 billion VND, including over 26 billion VND for land compensation and clearance, over 342.5 billion VND for construction, nearly 351 billion VND for equipment, and other expenses. The project is expected to be completed and commissioned in the second quarter of 2025.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Duc Tien affirmed that this is an important project for Quang Tri province's energy development policy. Due to time constraints, he requested the investor and construction unit to overcome all difficulties, create a detailed schedule for each work item, closely monitor the construction site to supervise and promptly resolve any obstacles to accelerate progress and ensure the quality of the project.

The Hai Lang district authorities must consider this a crucial project in the area and actively coordinate with relevant units to ensure proper land handover, intensify public awareness campaigns, prevent the construction of houses or structures within the agreed-upon power line corridor, and provide support to construction units to ensure timely implementation.
