[Video] Adjusting the Resolution on investing in Long Thanh International Airport

On the morning of December 8, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai chaired a meeting to listen to the Government present the Submission and Verification Report on adjusting the content of Resolution 94 related to the investment policy of Long Thanh International Airport.

Authorized by the Prime Minister, Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh said the adjusted goal is to build Long Thanh to ICAO level 4F, becoming one of the region's international aviation transit hubs, with a capacity of up to 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo per year.

The project uses many sources of capital, applies modern technology in construction, management and operation; implemented in 3 phases, in which phase 1 must be completed no later than December 31, 2026.

The Government proposed to allow self-approval of the Phase 2 Feasibility Study Report, without having to submit it to the National Assembly for approval, in order to shorten procedures and speed up progress.

Presenting the review report, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee Phan Van Mai said that this proposal is well-founded and consistent with the policy of promoting decentralization and the provisions of the amended Law on Public Investment. The Committee unanimously recommended including this content in the Joint Resolution of the 10th Session, and at the same time requested the Government to ensure the progress, quality and efficiency of project investment.
