Tomato

After exposure to sunlight, lycopene levels in the skin decrease by 31%-46%, leading to increased oxidative damage to tissues. Lycopene is a powerful antioxidant nutrient that can prevent UV-induced skin dark spots and wrinkles.

Studies have shown that after 10-12 weeks of lycopene supplementation, the risk of erythema and melasma caused by ultraviolet rays in sunlight will be reduced. Lycopene is abundant in tomatoes, especially after being cooked, making it easier for the body to absorb.

Watermelon

Watermelon also contains high levels of lycopene and is popular and cheap in the summer. Along with lycopene, watermelon is also rich in vitamin C which helps increase sun protection, nourish skin cells, and keep skin youthful and smooth.

Regularly eating watermelon is also a way to hydrate the body and moisturize the skin.

Bell pepper

Bell peppers contain many nutrients that not only help fight oxidation, protect the skin from the harmful effects of UV rays, but also stimulate collagen synthesis, slowing down the aging process of the skin.

Ideally, bell peppers are eaten raw as a fruit or added to salads to preserve the fruit's rich vitamin C and antioxidant content.

Carrot

Beta-carotene, found in abundance in carrots, can reduce UV damage to the skin, thereby protecting the skin. Research shows that taking about 8 mg of beta-carotene for 10-12 weeks can improve sunburn caused by UV rays.

In addition to adding carrots to your dishes, you can also juice carrots. A reasonable dose is one small carrot per day.

Eating too many carrots in a short period of time can cause jaundice.

Citrus

Citrus fruits in general contain vitamin C and antioxidants, which help reduce inflammation and increase skin resistance, thereby helping to reduce the harmful effects of UV rays on the skin.

Regularly supplementing this group of fruits also helps promote collagen synthesis, preserve skin elasticity, and slow down the aging process.
