This is one of the meaningful activities to celebrate the 133rd anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2023), an opportunity to promote and spread the tradition of patriotism and the preservation and protection of the nation's border sovereignty .

At the ceremony, Mr. To Dinh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, stated that the program "One Million National Flags for Fishermen Staying at Sea" (phase 2 titled "Proud of the National Flag") was launched and implemented by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper from June 1, 2019, in Bac Lieu province.
To date, after nearly four years, the program has expanded nationwide. It has donated and signed agreements to donate over 1.7 million national flags. In addition to national flags, the program has also donated medical equipment, first aid supplies for maritime use, lifebuoys, etc., to fishermen in all 28 coastal provinces and cities; and donated portraits of President Ho Chi Minh and gifts to border guards and people living along the land borders in all 25 provinces.
The Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper added that the newspaper has also collaborated with many localities nationwide to build the "National Flag Road" project. In Hau Giang, this is the third project undertaken by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper. This project is over 2.2 km long and has 180 flagpoles arranged on both sides of the road from the entrance gate of Luong Tam commune to the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Temple historical site.
"This is a meaningful project, a testament to the heartfelt commitment of the Party Committee, government, and people of Hau Giang, along with the staff of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper and our partners, demonstrating the spirit of remembering our roots. This is also an opportunity for local youth union members to reflect and strive for greater achievements in the future…" - Mr. To Dinh Tuan emphasized.
On this occasion, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper awarded 100 scholarships to support disadvantaged students in Hau Giang province under the "Scholarship Program to Support Ethnic Minority and Poor Students," each scholarship worth 1 million VND.
