Typhoon Yagi, with its strong intensity, is heading towards the Gulf of Tonkin, but Thanh Hoa province still has more than 880 vessels with over 5,300 workers operating at sea.

By noon on September 5th, several boats continued to seek shelter in the Lach Hoi storm shelter.
According to a preliminary report from relevant units, as of 9:30 AM on September 5th, the entire province still has 882 vessels with 5,350 workers operating at sea.
However, according to information from the Provincial Border Guard Command, 100% of vessels operating at sea have received information about the storm and are in regular contact with their families and relevant authorities. Currently, the Border Guard forces are actively urging vessels to quickly move to safe shelters.

Fishermen are loading and transporting seafood to move their boats to anchor as advised.
In reality, many fishermen are aware of storm warnings but still try to fish close to the storm, believing that rough seas during this period allow for a greater catch. This poses a significant danger if the vessel experiences malfunctions or engine failure, preventing them from seeking shelter in time.
Reportedly, the province currently has 6,116 vessels with 19,901 workers regularly operating at sea. By 9:30 AM on September 5th, 5,234 vessels with 14,551 workers had already taken shelter from the storm both within and outside the province.

Forecasts indicate strong winds and high waves in the Gulf of Tonkin on the night of September 5th and the early morning of September 6th.
According to forecasts from the Thanh Hoa Meteorological and Hydrological Station, at 10:00 AM on the same day, the center of Typhoon Yagi was located at approximately 19.1 degrees North latitude and 115.5 degrees East longitude, in the northern part of the South China Sea, about 490km east of Hainan Island (China). The strongest winds near the center of the typhoon reached level 16 (184-201 km/h), with gusts exceeding level 17, moving westward at a speed of about 10 km/h.
Forecasts indicate that by 10:00 AM on September 7th, the storm's center will be located over the Gulf of Tonkin. From tonight onwards, the Gulf of Tonkin will experience strong winds and high waves.
