Ha Giang Party Secretary appointed Minister of Natural Resources and Environment

On the afternoon of May 22, at the 5th session of the 15th National Assembly , with 454/467 delegates in favor (equal to 91.9% of the total number of National Assembly delegates), the National Assembly passed a Resolution approving the appointment of Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment for the 2021-2026 term, at the proposal of the Prime Minister.

Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh holds the position of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment for the 2021-2026 term, replacing Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha - who was just approved by the National Assembly to be dismissed from the position of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment on the same afternoon.

Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh was born on September 2, 1976, hometown Tien Dien town, Nghi Xuan district, Ha Tinh province.

He is a member of the Party Central Committee, 12th (alternate), 13th; a delegate of the National Assembly, 14th, 15th. Professional qualifications: PhD in Urban and Construction Management, Civil and Industrial Construction Engineer.

Mr. Khanh has worked and held the following positions: Director of the Department of Construction of Ha Tinh province; Secretary of Nghi Xuan District Party Committee; Vice Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of Ha Tinh Provincial People's Committee.

From June 2019 to January 2021, he was an alternate member of the 12th Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the 14th National Assembly Delegation of Ha Giang province; Member of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee, 14th National Assembly Delegate, term 2016 - 2021.

From January 30, 2021 to present, he is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the 14th National Assembly Delegation of Ha Giang province; member of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee, term 2016 - 2021.

In July 2021, he was a delegate of the 15th National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Ha Giang province, Head of the Party Cell.

May 2023: Hold the position of Minister of Natural Resources and Environment.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is a Government agency, performing the function of State management in the fields of land; water resources; mineral resources, geology; environment; hydrometeorology; climate change; surveying and mapping; comprehensive management of resources and protection of the marine and island environment; remote sensing; State management of public services in the fields under the Ministry's management .
