Dismissal of principal for directing score correction on electronic transcript software

The People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward (Quang Ninh Province) informed that, regarding the case of changing scores for children of ward officials, the authorities have determined that there were serious violations in changing the academic ranking from poor to excellent in the 2024-2025 school year. The authorities have disciplined 9 officials and civil servants, including the dismissal of the Principal of Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School.

The incident originated in early October 2025, when the People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward received a complaint from parents and teachers about violations at Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School, especially the content of correcting the score of a female student who is the child of a ward official on the electronic student report card software in the 2024-2025 school year. The act of "transforming" weak points into good points has caused outrage among the public, parents and students.

According to documents and people's feedback, this female student's semester exam scores in many subjects were changed, causing her final academic results for the 2024-2025 school year to "jump" from poor to excellent. Specifically, the original score in the semester exams for Informatics and English was 4, but was changed to 8 on the system. Parents also provided images of text messages showing that there was direction from school leaders, asking teachers to change the scores in Math, Natural Sciences , Informatics and English of this student.

After receiving the feedback, the People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward established an Inspection and Verification Team. Initial results showed that there were shortcomings and violations among the school's staff and party members. Based on the verification results, the People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward took steps to review and discipline the staff, civil servants and public employees in accordance with regulations, ensuring strictness, objectivity and transparency.

As a result, 9 cadres, civil servants and public employees were disciplined, of which 1 case was dismissed, namely Ms. D.TNL - Principal of Nguyen Van Thuoc Secondary School; 5 cases were warned; 3 cases were reprimanded.
