The Provincial Party Secretary inspected a number of economic development project models in Yen Mo district.

As part of their working visit to Yen Mo district, on the morning of January 16th, Provincial Party Secretary Doan Minh Huan and the delegation inspected several economic development models and projects in the district.

Comrade Doan Minh Huan, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and his delegation visited the high-tech agricultural production model of Mr. Tong Viet Vinh's family in Hamlet 4, Mai Son Commune.

With the support of the district, in June 2022, Mr. Tong Viet Vinh invested in installing two greenhouses with a water-saving irrigation system and growing high-economic-value crops such as cantaloupe, Korean honeydew melon, bell peppers, baby cucumbers, etc. After nearly two years of implementation, the model has yielded high economic efficiency.

Currently, the family has expanded the area of their greenhouses and water-saving irrigation system to 5,000 m2. In 2023, their Quang Vinh cantaloupe product was recognized as a 3-star OCOP product at the district level.

Along with investing in greenhouses and a water-saving irrigation system, Mr. Tong Viet Vinh also bid for expansion of his cultivated area. Currently, his family's total cultivated land area is approximately 5 hectares, and production follows organic farming practices.

In 2019, the family's production model was granted VietGAP certification for safe production. Estimated annual revenue reaches 1.1-1.2 billion VND (for 1,000 m2 of greenhouse, the annual revenue is approximately 270-330 million VND/year). The model has created jobs for 8-10 permanent workers with incomes ranging from 4.5 to 5.5 million VND/person/month.

Next, the delegation inspected several projects that Yen Mo district is researching and proposing for investment, such as: the Yen Thang lake dike upgrading project; the road from the Khanh Hoa intersection through the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway intersection in Yen Mo district; and visited Than Phu estuary (Yen Lam commune).

The implementation of these projects aims to overcome urban space constraints and create land reserves to attract investment, generate economic resources for the district, and contribute to exploiting the potential for tourism development in the locality.
