Hanoi leads the country in the number of nationally excellent students.

Out of 260 Hanoi students participating in the 2024-2025 National High School Excellent Student Selection Exam, 200 won awards. With this achievement, Hanoi continues to lead the country in the exam.

On January 18th, information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training indicated that out of 260 students from the city participating in the 2024-2025 National High School Excellent Student Selection Exam organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, 200 students won awards. These included 18 first prizes, 60 second prizes, 65 third prizes, and 57 consolation prizes.

Compared to last year, this represents an increase of 16 award-winning students. In the 2023-2024 school year, Hanoi students won 184 awards, including 14 first prizes, 61 second prizes, 54 third prizes, and 55 consolation prizes.

To participate in this competition, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training organized the selection and formation of 13 teams, comprising 260 students in the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics, Literature, History, Geography, English, French, Chinese, Russian, and Japanese.

This year, the teams in Physics, Chemistry, and English all won prizes (20 prizes). Biology and Chemistry were the two teams with the most first prizes, with 5 first prizes each.

Most of the award-winning students are currently studying at the city's four specialized high schools: Hanoi - Amsterdam High School, Nguyen Hue High School, Chu Van An High School, and Son Tay High School.

Contributing to the overall achievements of Hanoi students this year are students from non-specialized high schools such as Nguyen Gia Thieu, Viet Duc…; and students from private schools such as Newton, Nguyen Binh Khiem, Hoang Long, Japan International School…

Notably, this year, a student from a non-specialized public school in a disadvantaged district of the city also won an award: a student from Ngo Quyen High School in Ba Vi won third prize in Physics.

The National High School Excellent Student Selection Examination for the 2024-2025 academic year, organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, will be held on December 25th and 26th, 2024, with a total of 6,482 candidates nationwide participating.
