The communications departments of the two airports in Kosice and Poprad, northeastern Slovakia, reported that on September 1st, the airports were evacuated after receiving numerous bomb threats.
Poprad Airport authorities stated that the airport had to be closed due to the issue. Passengers were evacuated. Security forces searched the terminals and administrative buildings for explosives.
On the same day, Kosice Airport confirmed it had evacuated passengers due to a bomb threat. However, both airports resumed operations after authorities determined the threats were unfounded.
On the same day , in India, an IndiGo Airlines flight from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh to Hyderabad in Telangana was diverted to Nagpur in Maharashtra after receiving a bomb threat.
Local officials said all passengers and crew were evacuated from the plane. A rapid response team conducted a thorough search but found no suspicious signs. This incident is the latest in a series of bomb threats targeting schools, airports, shopping malls, and hospitals across India, including the Delhi metropolitan area.
In June, India's Civil Aviation Security Department proposed a five-year flight ban for individuals who make such threats.
