Dien Bien District People's Council held the 19th session to elect the Chairman of the District People's Committee.

The district People's Council delegates actively discussed and contributed many opinions on the results of the implementation of tasks in the first 6 months of the year, supervision activities and decisions on important issues in socio -economic development, ensuring national defense and security; and tasks of local budget revenue and expenditure in the last 6 months of the year.

At the meeting, the District People's Council dismissed Mr. Bui Hai Binh (job transfer) as Chairman of the District People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term; dismissed Mr. Bui Xuan Truong, Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and Mr. Nguyen Hong Quan (job transfer); dismissed 1 member of the District People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

The District People's Council elected the Chairman of the District People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term. As a result, 100% of delegates unanimously elected Mr. Nguyen Thai Binh , Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term, to hold the position of Chairman of the District People's Committee for the 2021 - 2026 term.

District People's Council delegates voted to elect the position of Chairman of the District People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term.

The meeting passed 14 resolutions on the following areas: socio-economic development; adjustment of the land use rights auction plan for the 2021-2025 period; adjustment of the medium-term investment plan for the 2021-2025 period and a number of other contents.

Chairwoman of the District People's Council Cao Thi Tuyet Lan emphasized that this is an important meeting for the completion of socio-economic development goals and tasks and strengthening national defense and security in 2024. After this meeting, it is recommended that the District People's Council delegates promote their role and responsibility, strengthen leadership, direction and management with a focus on the socio-economic development situation of the locality, maintain and ensure sustainable economic growth. Timely reporting the results of the meeting to voters, each delegate actively participates in propagating and mobilizing the people of all ethnic groups in the district to well implement the resolutions passed by the People's Council.
