On the afternoon of August 22, the 11th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Kien Giang province, term 2024 - 2029, held its first working day. The Congress took place over 2 days (August 22 and 23).
Attending the first working day were Mr. Mai Van Huynh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Kien Giang province, Head of the Congress Steering Committee; Mr. Le Thanh Viet - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Giang province, Standing Deputy Head of the Congress Steering Committee.
In addition, there are 266/268 official delegates representing member organizations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province, full-time officials of the Front and typical individuals representing the people, ethnic groups, religions, and experts in fields related to the work of the Front in the province.
On the first working day, the Congress consulted to elect the Presidium and the Congress Secretary; Approved the Program and Regulations of the Congress; Reported on the situation of delegates attending the Congress; Asked for opinions on the voting format in the Congress; Reported on the summary of the work of the Front for the 2019-2024 term and the directions, goals and Action Program for the 2024-2029 term; Reported on the review of the activities of the Committee and the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Provincial Committee for the 2019-2024 term; Reported on the synthesis of comments on the draft documents of the Congress of Vietnam Fatherland Front Delegates of Kien Giang province for the 2024-2029 term; Documents of the National Congress of Vietnam Fatherland Front Delegates and proposed amendments to the Charter of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term IX.
In addition, the Congress consulted to elect the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province for the 11th term, 2024-2029, consisting of 91 members (an increase of 8 members compared to the 10th term). On the same day, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Kien Giang province for the 2024-2029 term held its first meeting to consult to elect the positions of Chairman, Vice Chairmen and Standing Committee Members.
Tomorrow morning, August 23, the Congress will conduct its second working day.
