Female postal worker embezzled hundreds of millions of dong from taxpayers

On October 30, the Investigation Police Agency of Gia Lai Province prosecuted the case and temporarily detained Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga - an officer of the Chu Puh District Post Office (Gia Lai) to investigate the act of "Abuse of trust to appropriate property".

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga (35 years old, residing in Group 2, Chu Se town, Chu Se district, Gia Lai province) was accused of appropriating about 250 million VND from people who came to pay taxes.

It is known that local people go to the reception and result return department of Chu Puh District People's Committee to pay taxes.

However, instead of guiding them to the Chu Puh district state treasury or the bank to pay taxes, Ms. Nga collected money from people herself by using blank receipts bought from photocopy shops and signed the confirmation herself.

The money that people went to the District Public Administration Center to pay taxes was not paid by Ms. Nga to the state budget. Instead, she appropriated the above money and used it for personal purposes.
