Launching General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's book on socialism in Vietnam in 7 foreign languages

On May 19, in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda Department coordinated with the Central Steering Committee for External Information Work and the National Political Publishing House Truth to organize a ceremony to announce and introduce the book "Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, published in 7 foreign languages.

The book launch attracted a large number of delegates.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Head of the Steering Committee for External Information Work; comrades of the Party Central Committee, alternate members of the Party Central Committee, leaders of departments, ministries, branches and agencies in the Central; diplomatic representative agencies of a number of countries in Vietnam, experts, translators and scientists participating in the translation and editing of the book series.

Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia highly appreciated the idea of translating and publishing the book in 7 foreign languages; acknowledged the efforts of the team of prestigious experts and translators from agencies, ministries and local experts. He affirmed that the event of launching the book in 7 foreign languages has both political and historical and cultural significance, and hoped that the book will continue to spread valuable values, helping international friends to better understand Vietnam's policies and guidelines for national renewal and development, contributing to consolidating and tightening the friendly relations between Vietnam and other countries.

The book Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam (Vietnamese version) introduced to readers on the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2022), is one of the publications with strong and profound influence of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. To date, the number of printed and distributed copies of this version has reached nearly 30,000.

The book selects 29 typical articles and speeches of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, focusing on 5 key contents, including: Step by step realizing the path to socialism; Consistently implementing the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws and activities for the benefit of the people, in the spirit of "first support, second support", "one call, all respond", "unanimity from top to bottom", "throughout the whole"; Upholding dignity and honor as the most sacred and noble things; Affirming the unique foreign policy and diplomacy of the "Vietnamese bamboo tree", with solid roots, strong trunk, and flexible branches; Emphasizing culture as the soul of the nation, as long as culture exists, the nation exists.

Since its launch, the book's content has become an important orientation to help cadres, party members and people better understand socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam, creating ideological unity in the whole society, promoting the strength of great national unity to realize the strategic goals chosen by the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and our people.

The book is a valuable document, summarizing the theory of the renovation policy, the creative developments of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the model of socialism in Vietnam on the basis of creative application of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought. The work received many positive reviews and widespread attention from public opinion at home and abroad.

Through Vietnamese embassies and diplomatic missions abroad, the book has attracted deep interest from international researchers, scholars and readers.

This is also the basis for the idea of organizing the translation and publication of this book in 7 foreign languages (including English, Chinese, Lao, Russian, French, Spanish and Dutch), with the aim of spreading the political significance and orientational values of the book, contributing to the propaganda of the viewpoints, policies and guidelines of the Party and State of Vietnam on socialism and Vietnam's path to socialism to the world, helping international friends, readers at home and abroad, and overseas Vietnamese to better understand the country, people, culture, and cause of innovation and development of Vietnam.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia presented books to representatives of several foreign diplomatic agencies in Vietnam.

The implementation of the idea of publishing the book in foreign languages received the support, consensus and close cooperation of many central agencies and departments; the participation of a team of experts, translators and prestigious collaborators from the Central Foreign Affairs Committee, the University of Foreign Languages - Hanoi National University, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Academy of Military Science, etc.

The team that produced the book series also invited native experts from Laos, China, Canada, Cuba, Russia, etc. who always love and are close to the country and people of Vietnam, understand the language and political characteristics of Vietnam, and have expertise in political science to help evaluate the translations of the languages. After nearly a year since the start of the work, the book series has been officially completed and introduced to readers.

In addition to publishing more than 11,000 paper copies in 7 languages, providing them to foreign affairs and diplomatic agencies and organizations both at home and abroad, the Truth National Political Publishing House also launched an electronic version, serving readers for free on the website. www.stbook.vn to further enhance the effectiveness of communication work as well as widely spread the meaning of the book.
