Attending the meeting were representatives from the following units: the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Finance, the Department of Construction, the Ca Mau Transportation Construction Project Management Board, the Thoi Binh Area Project Management Board , the People's Committee of Bien Bach Commune, and the Board of Directors of Tan Bang Secondary and High School.
At the meeting, the Ca Mau Transportation Construction Project Management Board reported on the overall progress of the project's construction. To date, the project components have been largely completed, ensuring quality according to design and technical requirements, and are ready to proceed with the next steps as per regulations.
According to Nguyen Van Nguyen, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province, the inauguration ceremony and the recognition of national standards are important milestones, affirming the completion and commissioning of a modern educational facility, contributing to creating a new look for the school, improving the quality of teaching and learning in the locality in particular and Ca Mau province in general, and promoting the development of human resources and the overall quality of education in the region.
In his directive, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Luan requested the investor and the Department of Construction to promptly organize the acceptance of the project in accordance with regulations; and at the same time, prepare all necessary conditions for handover and organize the inauguration ceremony on September 4th, creating conditions for teachers and students of Tan Bang Secondary and High School to start the new school year 2025-2026 in a spacious and modern school. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Education and Training to inspect and recognize the school as meeting national standards if it meets the required conditions.
Tan Bang Junior and Senior High School was established in 2021 through the merger of Tan Bang Senior High School and Le Hoang Tha Junior High School. For 10 consecutive years, the school's high school graduation rate has consistently reached 100%. However, the facilities remain limited: there are only 18 theoretical classrooms, 3 laboratories, 2 computer labs, and a few other functional rooms, which are insufficient to meet the teaching and learning needs or the criteria for a national standard school. Many facilities are dilapidated, affecting the quality of education.
To meet national standards, the school needs investment in 10 new classrooms, the construction of a fence, canopy, and stage; leveling the ground, repairing 20 classrooms, and adding practical rooms and laboratory equipment.
Based on that reality, thanks to the efforts of the Secretary of the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ho Hai, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi (currently Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee), and the support of Mr. Bui Manh Hung, Chairman of the Founding Board of Cityland Investment Company Limited (CITYLAND GROUP), the Thien Nhan Association of Ho Chi Minh City has sponsored 20 billion VND to build and complete the basic facilities, ensuring that Tan Bang Secondary and High School meets national standards for recognition.
